12: remember me?

Entry 01.

The world of Wonder isn't what it seems. Every table cam turn unexpectedly and the people you think you trust might ne the one who'll betray you. I had learned that the hard way and I will not let it happen again. To you who reads this, I know it may be confusing in your oart. But please bear with me.

Master Alicia has left Wonderland and I want to follow her to her world. I need to keep my family safe. I was able to foresee what will happen: someone will plan to strike and cause havoc in Wonderland. I still don't know and soon, the well of Wonder will gove hints. And it's hard to find it nowadays.

It's dried up and it needs to disappear to refill itself longer than it usually does. The world of Wonder is in danger.

"What does this mean?" I asked the cat. He just sat on the throne like it was his. "You see, I'm not someone you should trust with these information, Princess Maria. You still haven't figured the whole history out and I won't be able to read the book." He sat up, rubbing his eyes slowly with a soft purr.

"How are you not able to read the book?"

"My dearest, it only unfolds itself to either Carmela or her master's descendants. And it only means that you are the only one who can read it."

"Why are you helping me?"

"Simple. I need a twist, Maria. And helping you will make that twist happen."

I looked at him. His eyes avoided mine. Lies. "You're lying, cat. You have a deeper reason to this." He just shrugged and laid back down. "You see, you have your answers to your fingertips. Yet you still ask questions?" I just looked at him. Something tells me that he's got something deeper than the twist he's mentioned.

"I need to go. It's almost sundown." He just shooed me away lazily. I swear this cat might be the end of me— figuratively, of course. It was almost at the peak of the moon when I arrived back at the casa. The hallways were dark. Only fireflies kept on lamps were the ones who were flowing. The smooth scent of wood and fire went into my trills as I walked from the main hall.

The place was eerily quiet and I don't fancy the vibe it gives off. Then as if on cue, the memory gem in my ear tingled.

"Carmela, what brings you here so late a time in the night?"

"I need... I need your help."

"What for, dearest friend?"

"Jack isn't what he seems."

"Jack? Like the young master of house Levanter?"

"Yes, it is he. He's... he's planning to cause havoc."

"But how do you know of this?"

"I need to make sure that we are in a secure place, Ollin. Walls still have ears."

It stopped.

I just shook my head and walked into my room. The flowers— who once were briars immediately flushed oramge when I came near. Like a warning. I had the gut feeling that something awaits on the other side, so I opened the door slowly. And I was right. Someone was standing on the balcony. His eyes met mine and my heart rate escalated as the little, hidden gem in my ear tingled.

"There you are, love. Been looking everywhere for you."

"What do you want, Jack?"

"Oh, well, it's simple. I want you to be my queen. Let us rule this revolution together."

"You're crazy."

"Not yet, my love. Everything's still starting. We'll conquer everything together."

In his coat, he smiled as I met him on the balcony. His dark eyes looked happy. But the memory gem gave off a warning and I don't want him to notice. Who knows what might happen. This time, I don't know who to trust. "My love, how was your day?" He asked sweetly, leaning on the balcony's railing. He looks so carefree, like he lives in the moment.

"It went well, I guess. I was reading this novel at the old castle."

We just stood there under the moon's peak, in each other's arms, keeping us both warm. "Why did you choose me, Pat?" I glanced up to look at him. His eyes held a smile that even his lips cannot compare. He was breathtakingly handsome and I can never deny sich a fact.

"Relax, everything's still starting. We'll conquer everything together. One by one. And you will be my queen."

I stilled and looked at him. This isn't the first time. My head snapped at me for ignoring those instances of resemblance to the events the little gem in my ear had revealed. He just smiled at me and pat my head. "Sleep now, love." And my vision started to swirl. Like I was drunk. The difference was I didn't drink anything.

It was already at the peak of day when I woke up.

I wore a simple dress since there will be guests today. The Montreals will host a tea party in the vast cherry blossom garden. So I dolled myself up in a simple blue dress. It has small touches of pink with butterflies around the bodice and some on the skirts that made it simple, yet classy and presentable. The memory gem changed its color as I morphed it into a butterfly-shaped pendant that I attached to my necklace.

The garden was stuffed already when I went down. Little children from noble families were gathered 'round, having their fun time while some adolescents around my age looked at me when I came into their view. "Lisa!" I almost stilled when I hear Lia. I almost forgot that I am Monalisa Arielle to everyone else.

"So, you're the lady Monalisa?" I just managed a polite nod. He has curly hair, strong jaws and a tight smile. "I'm Sahawn of house Manderia. Nice meeting you, lady Lisa." I just gave him a slight smile and curtsied.

"I'm Jack II of house Levanter."

Jack Levanter. The name seems familiar to me. Like I heard it before already. When I met his gaze, his eyes sparkled a mysterious dark red. Wait... Levanter...

"By chance, I haven't heard of you before, sir Jack." I asked politely, trying to avoid being called rude. He just flashed a smile. "Well, it's alright. I forgive you for not remembering me." I gave hum a puzzled look.

Hi.

lone wonderer, apologies for the extreme delays in updates. I have seemed to have written things down properly and of course, edit out the mistakes. It is already summer, which means, lesser cell service. So I am quite afraid— saddened, down, in pain, mourning, depressed(?), and anything else negative, can't think of more anyways— that I might not be able to update this. So, like my other stories, I am putting this on hold.

ALTHOUGH!

you can find me on facebook: Yoru Emiriya, since I can use it for free (without the cell service, a.k.a. free mode), I post short stories and poems there. And you can also interact with me better!

Always yours in wonder,
Yoru
