Resurgence: an increase or revival after a period of little activity.
"Perseus?" Hades voice was barely above a whisper, and there was a hint of fear mixed in with the disbelief.
"The one and lonely,"
"And us, Kelp Head," Thalia added.
Percy laughed. "Yes, and the two losers behind me. Anyways, let's get this done quickly. Do you surrender blah blah blah? If not, I'll kill you and you'll reform in Tartarus so then I'll control you, blah blah blah,"
Hades just sighed. "There's no way I'm getting out of this to carry on with my normal life, is there?"
Percy shook his head. "Nope!"
"And I'm assuming you could kill me before I get to my feet, am I right?"
"Yup!"
"So I have to surrender,"
"Only logical option really,"
Hades sighed, putting his head and his head as though he had been to one of Zeus's slideshow presentations (those were really boring). "What if I offer you a deal?"
"Then I guess you must be smarter than the two of your brothers," Percy raised one eyebrow. "What's the deal?"
"I join you, but I get to stay in my domain once you win. I can help you kill get Hecate on your side, then you can get spells. What did you plan to do with my domain? Bring people back to life because I can do that?"
"Yeah, pretty much,"
"Okay." Hades waved his hands towards the rest of the underworld. "Go get whoever you want, tell me, and then I'll know. If you need to get rid of anyone, dump them in the river Lethe,"
Percy nodded, his two friends following him out and towards the rest of the underworld. Percy turned to Thalia, knowing Leo didn't know who he was rephrasing to as well. "We get some friends. Luke, Ethan, Zoe, Bianca. Maybe some other heroes. We take anyone else we want and push them in the Lethe, then use them. I hear once you push them in the Lethe, they believe the first things they hear. You wanna test that theory?"
"Got it. You can do the thing right? Where they lose all loyalty to the gods?" Thalia asked.
"I did it with y'all, didn't I?" Percy asked.
They arrived at their destination shortly after, only to be greeted by people tackling them. Percy laughed, though it was darker than it used to be.
"Luke, you know how you always said you hated the gods? And how you only joined them to stop Kronos? What if I told you we could skip the Kronos step, and kill the gods?"
"Yes!" Luke said a little to quickly. He gave a sheepish smile and decomposed himself. "I mean, I think that could work. May I ask why?"
"The gods are bastards, I was sent to hell, I came back. Hades made an alliance with me, so now I have all of underground on my domain,"
"Oh I am so in!" Luke said, sharing a smirk with Thalia until he saw Leo. "Who's the new kid?"
"Leo Valdez, one of the two that didn't betray Percy," Leo introduced himself.
Luke smiled warmly, "Luke Castellan, almost destroyed the world,"
"That's not something to be proud of," Thalia pointed out, but Luke just shrugged.
"What about the rest of you?" Percy turned his attention away from Luke and towards his other fallen friends.
"I'm down," Ethan said.
"I'll help too," Zoe noticed Percy and Thalia's surprise and gave them a small smile. "I've been working on my English,"
All eyes turned to Bianca, the one person who hadn't spoken up yet. She shook her head, "I'm sorry, but I'm loyal to Olympus and my brother,"
Percy just sighed and shook his head, expression darkening to the one he showed camp half blood. "You know, I really didn't want to have to do this,"
"Do what?" Bianca asked, eyes growing wide.
"Your father won't mind of course, he'd prefer you to be allied with him I can assume. He always did like you better than Nico," Percy ignored her question.
"Percy, what are you going to do to me?" Bianca slowly backed up.
Percy just continued to ignore her. "He did give me permission anyways, plus you'll stay the same, just loyal to us. I imagine we could do it to that blond Nico likes if he ever raises a threat. It'll sure break your brother,"
"What are you talking about?" Bianca was scared now, but with the loyalty to Bianca stripped away from the rest of the dead heroes, no one cared.
Percy smiled, one dark and demented he had earned from his years in hell. "Why the river Lethe, of course. Don't worry, it won't hurt,"
Bianca couldn't see who grabbed her arms, but her eyes were closed and mouth clamped shut as she was dragged towards the river.
It was cold, a rushing feeling that seemed to make everything stop for a while. Where was she? What was she doing there? Who was she?
She felt a hand pull her up, and she stared at a guy with red eyes and raven black hair. She knew him, didn't she?
"Bianca!" She couldn't tell if he was lying, but why would he lie? "We were so worried about you! I'm Percy, you're Bianca. This is Leo, Thalia, Luke, Zoe, and Ethan. We are going against Camp Half Blood, and your father had helped. You love your father, but hate your brother; Nico Di Angelo. You want Camp Half Blood—and the gods—to fall dead at your hands, right?"
"And you know that Percy's your boyfriend as well, right?" Thalia added, though she got a glare.
That sounded right. It felt familiar. She hated Camp Half Blood, hated her brother, hated the gods. Bianca smiled, "thanks Perce. That could've been worse, I could've been pulled out and lied to,"
"We wouldn't want that," Percy gave a dark laugh, although Bianca found it to be a normal one. She smiled warmly as they walked through the underworld to the gates of hell.
