Opal's head hung low as she sauntered to her room, while she was overjoyed to be trusted with such an important mission, she couldn't look past the fact it had to be with him.

"Lighten up hopeful, this could be fun you know, just like the old days in the academy, me beating you and you losing miserably." Lucas broke the silence, using Opal's old nickname to tease her. When the two were younger Opal often used to talk about her dreams of becoming the director, Lucas of course always used to tease her about how it was an unrealistic dream. Even so, Opal was adamant she would be, thus gaining her the awful nickname hopeful Opal. Lucas knew that it didn't really rhyme but he revelled in the way it riled her up, hues of red jumping to her ears and cheeks.

"Call me that one more time and your knee won't be the only thing I kick." Opal glared at Lucas before speeding up, attempting to create distance between them.

"You know I love it when you get feisty" Lucas increased his pace slightly to catch her up before turning towards Opal, flashing her his famous devious smirk.

"Oh look it's my room and just when I started enjoying myself." Opal returned Lucas' smirk with a sarcastic smile before disappearing into her room.

Once Opal closed the door, she quickly kicked off her shoes and jeans before practically running to her bed, throwing herself under the blankets. She then closed her eyes letting sleep overtake her, deciding that unpacking could wait until tomorrow.

Opal awoke to the feeling of warm rays of sun dancing across her face, she then arose, glancing around and the room, wearily. At this, a soft groan escaped her as she remembered where she was.

"You awake in there sleepy head?" Opal was suddenly brought out of her thoughts at the sound of her best friend shouting at her through the door.

"Noah!" Opal sprung out of bed quickly, rushing to the door, throwing it open in seconds. Once she successfully opened the door she pitched her arms around him, almost knocking him over. Noah had been off on a mission for a few weeks now, she had no idea that he would be back today.

"Oh my god, I've missed you!" Opal squealed into his shoulder, inhaling the familiar scent of coconut and vanilla.

"Jeez pixie, you almost knocked me over." Noah let out a breathy chuckle before setting her down, lightly. Pixie was another one of Opal's nicknames, this one had been given to her on account of the hight difference between the friends.

"How the hell did your eyes actually get bluer while you were away?" Opal had always loved Noah's soft blue eyes, the way they swirled in the light like waves of the ocean, they often reminded her of her home, but all of Noah seemed to do that.

"You always say that Opal and every time I tell you that they didn't get bluer, you just got more in love with me." Noah always liked to joke about Opal being in love with him, he had down since they were little.

"Shut up, what's the time anyways?" Opal questioned as she lightly smacked his arm. Usually Opal would have glanced at the clock by now, but Noah's arrival has distracted her.

"It's is.." Noah quickly looked at his watched, "Six thirty seven."

"Oh god is it really that late?" Opal, like any other member of the academy had a strict routine of waking up at six everyday, it wasn't often that she woke up any later.

"Stop moping and let's go eat breakfast so I can boast about Greece." Noah wrapped him arm around Opal before leading her down the corridor.

Once they had piled their various choices of breakfast onto their trays, they made their way over to one of the only free tables left. This was one of the many reasons Opal hated waking up late, lack of options, table wise and food wise.

"Okay so tell me all about it." Opal requested as they sat down, before promptly shoving a piece of bacon in her mouth.

"Okay so.. Oh god look who just entered the cafeteria." Opal followed his line of vision over to none other than Lucas with his arm wrapped around his latest conquest, resisting the urge to gag she quickly turned back around to Noah.

"Don't you start complaining it's not like you're the one who has to work with him on what could possibly be the most important assignment of your career." Opal's words came out rushed as she accidentally ranted to her poor friend.

"I'm sorry Noah I didn't mean to snap, this was supposed to be about you ,I want to
hear all about Greece."

"Nice try , there's no way I'm letting this go, this is about you now so why don't you tell me all about this assignment and why your first joint mission is with that idiot."

"I thought you knew, you did find my room this morning so I assumed someone must have told you why I'm here."

"All I got told is that you're on some important mission no one mentioned it would be with that arsehole." It was no secret that Noah shared Opal's hatred for Lucas and not just because of his friendship with her.

"Trust me I don't like it either but it's about those missing agents, I couldn't say no if I was able to help them."

"This is so insulting, am I not good enough for this mission? I mean why him?" Noah pouted adorably at Opal, suddenly making her feel guilty that he had been left out.

"I didn't think of it that way, I'm so sorry Noah, you're an amazing agent, maybe they didn't ask you because you only just got back from Greece."

"Shall we go train now? I'm not feeling particularly hungry anymore."

"Sure, lets go." Opal smiled sweetly at Noah before getting up, taking both their trays to the bin.
