Kazuichi Souda was in love. He was really in love. His crush was tall, had fluffy, lightly colored hair, wore green a lot, and had enchanting grey eyes. His crush was sweet, kind, caring, laidback, all that stuff. There was only one problem.
His crush was a guy.
Nagito Komaeda, the ultimate lucky student, was the boy who held Kaz's heart.

{TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY A KOKICHI KINNIE ON LUNCH BREAK}

"The ultimates are working together..."Nagito was insane. His eyes were swirly and he was smiling creepily and his laugh sounded more like an asthma attack. Honestly, nobody would be surprised if it was.
Yet it was enticing to Kazuichi. Why? He doesn't know. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the pink haired boy felt the urge to vomit. He gulped.
"M-monokuma? I feel sick." He raised his hand like a normal classroom.
"Go! Don't puke all over my trial stands!" Monokuma shooed Kazuichi away.
When Kaz got to his cabin, he coughed up...blood? That can't be good. And...and flowers? God fucking dammit. He knew what this meant. Hanahaki Disease. It occurs when someone is feeling one-sided love. The only way to get rid of it is to confess or die. Kazuichi stopped coughing and one thing led to the next and...he was crying with his head in his knees. He probably missed the rest of the trial and the execution, whatever.
The next few weeks on the island were living hell. Kazuichi would try his best to not cough up blood around people, and tried to tell himself to get over Nagito. Because of that, he's projected a hella over exaggerated "crush" on Sonia Nevermind, who obviously loved Gundham Tanaka. Now, Kazuichi would just ignore the boy, but Gundham seemed to hate Kaz so naturally, the mechanic decided to hate him back.

Kazuichi woke up feeling like shit. He walked over to the main room in the funhouse and saw Nagito and Sonia yelling at each other. Kazuichi stood next to Gundham. He wanted to intervene, but if he opened his mouth, he'd cough blood and flowers. Then, after a few minutes, Nagito rolled his eyes and smirked. He walked over in Kaz's direction. His next action shocked Kazuichi, and led to more yelling from Sonia.

Gundham.

The mechanic raised his arm in a universal 'i'm excusing myself' gesture and swiftly walked away. As soon as he got to his room in the funhouse, he died. Quite literally, too: coughing up enough blood and flowers for a horror wedding movie set, vision getting blurred, then black, not being able to breath. That was it. Kazuichi Souda had gotten rid of the Hanahaki disease the hard way.

But was it really the hard way?
