Just a little longer...It'll be over soon...
Nagito had to keep repeating this in his head. Flames rose around him but it was okay.

After all, he was the one who'd prepared all this.

All the pain, all the suffering he had to go through now, would just benefit hope in the long run. Yes that was it. Well if you thought about it his plan was simple. Prepare a trap and use his luck to make sure the traitor would kill him. Then the remaining students, who Nagito had found out we're all Remnants of Despair, wouldn't be able to figure out who it was and the traitor would be able to graduate, ending all despair on this island.

All throughout preparing it, he thought of Chiaki Nanami. She...She was the traitor. But she was good. All she had ever given them was hope and in a killing game with Remnants if Despair this meant that she was the only truly hopeful Ultimate. The true Symbol of Hope. And even now, Nagito couldn't help but smile through the pain. He had become quite enamoured by the Ultimate Gamer. He felt an odd sense of sadness. It was a shame that she'd have to be sad over trash like him dying.

His hands trembled as he held the cord of the spear which would soon enough drop and impale him. He wished this would go along faster though. The others were trying to put out the raging fire, throwing the red bottles. Nagito just had to count on his luck for Chiaki to throw the one which had the poison in it.

And then just like that, Nagito heard the crash of another bottle.  As he breathed in, his lungs began to burn. If it wasn't for the tape covering his mouth, he would have certainly screamed in agony. He wanted it to stop. To end. This was some of the worst pain he'd ever felt before. He slips in to darkness, not even having the will to fight back anymore. His hand went limp and the speared dropped, piercing right in to his stomach.

I'm sorry...Chiaki...

No, something's wrong...

Chiaki threw another bottle.

Where's Nagito?

Well obviously she'd be worried for her crush. She knew Nagito wasn't the stablest person either and so tried to be with him even more. When the fire finally died down, the Ultimates entered the warehouse.

Whatever they expected to find, it sure wasn't the Ultimate Lucky Student's body, strung up and impaled.

Chiaki's eyes widened.
"NO NO NAGITO!"
The normally calm girl, frantically fell down to her knees next to Nagito's body. She put her arms around him and frantically started to shake him.
"NO PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! WAKE UP NAGITO WAKE UP!"
She hated this. She hated the way his skin felt so cold on hers. She hated how his normally lively eyes were now glossed over. She hated how a huge metal spear was stuck in his abdomen.

And most of all, she hated herself for being too late to stop this.
