Rhiannon's POV:
12 Grimmauld Place. Not a fancy name is it? But it is home. Well at least for now that is. Since my father has been resorted to a life in hiding I have had to stay here. My godfather, Remus Lupin, was going to let me stay with him, but thought I would be safer here.
"Rhiannon, you have got all your things for Hogwarts this year right?" My father asked, for like the millionth time today. I nodded as I poured some Pumpkin Juice in a glass and sat down at the table in the kitchen. My father is Sirius Black, the one and only. I took a drink and sat the glass down on the table as Remus walked in.
"Well isn't this a lovely sight." someone hissed.
"Snivellous!" my father growled as Professor Snape stood in the door way. I rolled my eyes as I looked between the three men.
"I still think you two are married." I stated coolly as I took another drink of the Pumpkin Juice. I felt a pair of onyx eyes bore into my skull and looked up to see Snape glaring at me with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"Rhiannon, my dear, will you go bring your things down." Remus smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder making me look up at my moony friend. I nodded with a smile and got up. I shuffled past Snape slightly grazing his arm. To which he tensed but soon relaxed after I passed. I knew why he did that. I also knew why he was so cold to everyone and let no one in. But a part of me wanted to change that. A part of me wanted to just hug him and say that you can love again. But I knew it would be inappropriate.
Severus's POV:
After Rhiannon was out of ear shot Sirius spoke, "Watch over her will you Snivellous?"
"Since the Tri-Wizard Tournament is being held at Hogwarts this year we want to make sure she is safe." Lupin chimed in.
"Why me?" I hissed.
"Because since neither Padfoot nor I can be there we thought you next best thing." Lupin answered after careful consideration.
I sighed looking down at the ground, "Fine."
"Yes I am fine looking, thank you Professor." Rhiannon chirped as she walked past me with her trunk floating after her, and her owl's cage in hand. I huffed and rolled my eyes. Insufferable brat.
"Are you ready?" I asked coldly. She nodded with an expressionless look on her face. Rhiannon lifted her wand over her head and mumbled a simple spell that changed her muggle clothes to her robes. During her fist year, which I remember quite well thank you, she was sorted into Slytherin under much disagreement to her. Once she finished she walked over to me with smile. I glared at her and apporated (Probably spelled that wrong but all well:)) just outside the school grounds.
"Good to be back." Rhiannon whispered mainly to herself.
"If you say so." I hissed. I walked over to a carriage that was pulled by Thestrals. Only people who have witnessed death can see these skeletal winged horses.
Rhiannon's POV:
Hogwarts. Still took my breath away every time I stepped foot in it. Snape and I shared a carriage up to the school. Snape never said a word until we were on our way to the Great Hall.
"Stay out trouble will you!" Snape mused walking away from me. Me get in trouble? Never! Okay so maybe once but that wasnt my fault Pansy Parkinson brought it on herself. I walked over to the Slytherin and sat by Blaise. I smiled at him and looked over at the Gryffindor table and waved at Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and George. Over the course of three years I had become quite good friends with the Golden Trio and their friends, and even friends with people in my own house too.
"How was your trip?" Blaise asked as Draco sat down opposite us.
"Gut wrenching. I hate using the Apparation spell." I replied. "Especially when Snape is involved." Blaise laughed and looked up at the High Table where Snape sat with the other Professors. I noticed his onyx eyes were on mine, but soon he looked away. I felt a pang in my heart as he did, but just ignored it.
"Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts." Professor Dumbledore stated with a small smile, "This year will be different from all the others here. Hogwarts will be hosting the Tri-Wizard Tournament." There was a small round of applause. "Two other schools will be joining us this year. Dumstrung and Beauxbaton.. And we have a new DADA Professor. Please welcome Professor Moody." Dumstrung as in Viktor Krum? The Belgium chaser? A few weeks before attending Hogwarts the Quiditch World Cup took place between the Irish and of course Blegium. I however did not go due to I had a gut feeling something bad would happen and I didnt want to be caught up in that.
"However no one under the age of 17 can enter the tournament." Dumbledore declared.
"What rubish!" George, or was it Fred, shouted. I could never tell the difference.
"I will draw a aging spell around the cup when the time comes." Dumbledore added and flicked his hands making food appear on the tables. I smiled hungrily and loaded my plate with food. I felt a little bit like the Slytherin female version of Ron, but I didnt care. As long as this girl got some food who cares what others think.
"Oh look who is fattening herself up." Pansy snorted. She was sitting next to Draco and across from me which might have been a bad idea. On her part.
"Oh look who still looks like a pug!" I retorted with a smirk. Pansy glared at me reaching slowly for her wand. I know Snape told me not to get in any trouble, but this would be worth any detention he will give.
"Cru...." Pansy started to say, but was soon caught off.
"Expelliarmus!" I shouted disarming her. I smiled with satisfaction. I put my hand back into my pocket. My wand is fifteen inches long and has a Thestral tail-hair core and made in vine wood. Mine is the same as Dumbledore's but his is the elder wand while mind is the sister wand. Which means that I have mastered death in some way for this wand to have picked me. I dont know how.
"Miss. Black! Miss. Parkinson!" a slick voice hissed. I slowly turned my head up and looked into a pair of onyx eyes.
"Professor." I smiled weakly.
"What did I tell you Miss. Black?" Snape coaxed.
"That I was fine looking." I teased. Snape stiffened, clearly annoyed.
"No. I told you to not get into any trouble, you insufferable pain in my side!" Snape growled.
"Oh yeah that one. Yeah sorry about that Professor but Pug face her was about to use the Crucio curse on me and I was only defending myself. I hope you understand." I defended myself. Snape rolled his eyes and grabbed my arm roughly, dragging me to the Potions classroom. Which just so happens to be in the Dungeon.
"Your hurting me!" I whined as he opened the door to the classroom, throwing me inside.
"What do you honestly think you can talk to me like that in front of other students." Severus snapped. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "Answer me."
"No." I snapped back.
"Fine then you will have detention for a month." Snape hissed as he inched closer to me. I felt my heart skip a beat as I felt his body heat. Why did I have to have feelings for this man? Did I have feelings for the Dungeon Bat? No. I shook my head to get the thoughts out of my head and looked Snape dead in the eye.
"Fine." I said, "May I leave now?" He nodded and I left the classroom, going to the Slytherin Common Room. I said the password, which was Pureblood, and went straight to my dorm, which I had to myself. Thank the Lord. I fell backwards onto my bed and sighed. Being in my fifth year I had to worry about O.W.L.'s. Lucky Lucky me!
"Rhiannon!" the Head girl said, before I got to go close my eyes.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Professor Snape would like to see you to discuss which job they would like to go into." she answered with a nod. I sighed and followed. I made my way back to Snapes office/classroom.
"Snivellous!" I hollered, knocking on the door.
"Enter!" he said from the other side of the door. "Sit."
"So....Professor." I exhaled siting down in the chair across from him.
"We need to discuss jobs. What would you like to do after your time here?" Snape asked leaning back in his chair.
"Be a strip tease." I mocked. Snape rolled his eyes giving me a glare, "No just kidding. I was seriously thinking about working at the Ministry or becoming an apprentice to become a Potions Professor." I have been really good at Potions, excellent actually.
"Alright." Snape said, expressionless. He wrote furiously on a piece of paper.
"So now is time for classes. Which elective classes would you like?" Snape hissed, "I highly recommend taking Magical Theory if you want to go into Ministry work."
"Can I also take Double Potions and Care of Magical Creatures as well, Professor?" I asked.
Snape's POV:
"You may." I nodded, writing it down. "So that means you are taking Double Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Magical Theory and your basic core classes." I looked up at the brown eyed girl in front of me and she nodded. I felt my eyes lingering on hers for a moment but quickly turned away.
"May I leave now?" She asked, quietly. I nodded and handed her her course schedule. She got up and exited the room I watched her and felt a pang of loneliness after she left. I wanted her to return, but I knew I couldn't.
