Percy's POV

Me and Annabeth had been attending Midtown High for a week now. We mostly hung out with Ned, Peter and MJ.

Ever since the book incident with the bully, who's name was Flash, I'd made sure I was extremely careful around MJ.

Anyway, we walked into the hallway, and saw Ned and Peter by the lockers discussing something in hushed tones. We went over to them, but as son as we came into sight, they stopped talking. I decided to brush it off, since it was probably nothing.

"Hey, Peter. Sup Ned?" I greeted.

"Nothing much. We're just talking about the new lego Star Wars set." Ned replied.

"Yeah. Anyway, how're you?" Peter asked.

"We're fine. Where's MJ?" Annabeth asked.

Just then, MJ walked towards us from across the hall. "Sup losers? Hey Annabeth."

"Hey MJ. Did you see the new book that cane out? The one by Cassandra Clare?" Annabeth asked excitedly.

MJ grinned. "Yep. I've ordered it to come the day after tommorow."

"I'd better get to class." I interrupted, before they could rant about the book further.

"Yeah, same. I've got English next. You?" Annabeth said.

"History." Ned answered. Me and Peter nodded.

"I've got English with Annabeth. See you guys at lunch." MJ told us.

"Ok." Peter said.

And then, being Peter, he dropped the book he was holding.

At the same time, MJ and Peter reached for it, their hands briefly touching. Peter turned red at the action, and MJ picked up the book and handed it over.

"Um, this is yours." She stated, looking slightly flustered herself.

Annabeth was smirking, and Ned and I had to look away to stop bursting out laughing. They were so cute.

MJ and Annabeth walked away to classroom. "Awwwwww. You two are so adorable. Agh." Ned squeeled.

"I know, right? Ask. Her. Out." I continued.

Peter's face turned even redder, and he shook his head. "No. No way. Not going to happen."

Me and Ned grinned. "Whatever happens, I will make my ship sail."

Peter sighed. "Come on, guys."

"Someone's caught feelings." Ned teased.

Peter let out a groan.

"I'm going to class." He muttered.

"Hey! Don't be mad at us! Being fangirls is in our nature!" I protested.

Ned laughed and we hurried of to history, following an embarrassed Peter. We took our seats, and I mentally prepared myself for another boring lesson.

We were only a few miniutes in before I gave in to boredom and stopped listening to what Miss Clarkson was drawling on about. I began doodling on the desk, completely ignorant to what the rest of the class was doing.

"Mr Jackson!" The teacher screeched.

Ned nudged me. "Wha- what?" I asked. He pointed at the angry looking teacher. "Pay attention. Next time, it'll be detention." She threatened. "Now, would you like to tell us about what we were discussing."

You know, I hate it when teachers do that. They know you don't know the answer, and they pick on you. I mean, come on! I have ADHD. You think my concentration will hang around if you're attempting to bore me to death?

"Um..." I looked over at what she'd written on the board. It took a few seconds, before I made it out. Or, attempted to.

"Right... So... the Geek Dogs..."

"That says Greek Gods, Mr Jackson." Miss Clarkson sighed, clearly fed up with me.

My face went red with embarrassment, but Peter and Ned gave me a quick thumbs up. "Ok. Greek Gods. There were some divine beings, or something like that, who ruled the earth. The big three, AKA, Zues, Posiden and Hades, we're sons of Kronos, the titan lord of time. They split the earth into three parts. Sky, sea and the dead. Zues got the sky. Posiden got the sea. Hades got the dead."

"Well done, Percy." Miss Clarkson told me, and I had a feeling she wanted to do anything other than teach a bunch of 17 year olds.

.

.

.

After school, Peter told me he had to go do something. I wasn't sure what, but I found myself waiting for Annabeth in the school parking lot with Ned.

"Listen. I need to ask you something." Ned told me.

"Go on." I replied, mildly interested.

"It's about Peter and MJ." That perked up my interest.

"What?"

"You know how they clearly like each other, but, like, won't admit it?"

"Yeah."

"How about... we play matchmaker?"

My face split into a grin. "Yes. That's awesome. Annabeth could help as well!"

Soon, we had an entire plan ready to be put into action when Annabeth showed up.

It had takes four years for me to tell Annabeth I liked her. A part of me wondered whether I should let Peter and MJ figure it out on their own.

But then again...

I'd seen how stubborn they could be.

Maybe this was the right thing to do after all?
