Annabeth's POV
Have any of you ever had OTP's you really badly want, and their the cutest fictional couple ever?
But then their just like, nope. I don't like you one bit, around one another?
Well, just take that frustration, except use it on real people. That's how I felt towards MJ and Peter. They're my OTP in real life.
And I'm not saying I've never had OTP's in real life before, because I have. I mean, Jasper and Frazel. Hello? They're so adorable. Then there's Caleo. And I always tear up when I think about Charlena.
Maybe I'm a sucker for romance novels, though I wouldn't admit it, but then again, who isn't. I once caught Leo reading The Fault In Our Stars, and we just spent an entire hour crying together.
So when Percy told me his plan about playing matchmaker in real life, obviously I agreed. I couldn't sleep all night, because I was tweeking and perfecting Ned's plan.
The following morning, I went up to MJ.
"Hey. I was wondering if you're free tommorow?" I asked.
"That depends entirely of the rest of what you were saying." She replied. Her dark hair was pulled into a ponytail, and she was holding her sketching notebook in her hands. She had shown me some of her drawings. I'd seen alot of art before, but MJ's was definitly one of my favourites.
"Me, Peter, Percy and Ned are going hiking tommorow. I heard the view is great to sketch and stuff, so I was thinking you'd like to come." I answered.
"Yep. I'm free tommorow. When are you guys leaving?" She asked.
"One O'clock. Well be back by seven-ish, since we're picking up lunch on the way. Plus, there's boating as well." I replied, trying my hardest to stop a smirk from pulling on my lips.

Peter had agreed as well. We were all set, and were taking a taxi to the hiking spot. MJ and Peter were sat next to each other, and I internally fangirled.
Ned and Percy were on either side of me. Seaweed Brain held my hand, grinning stupidly and laughing at Ned's jokes.
"We're here." I stated, as the taxi pulled into a lush green field at the base of an extremely tall hill. It looked pretty steep, but nothing compared to the climbing wall at camp.
About twenty miniutes later, we were half way up the hill. The view really was breathtaking. Trees and flowers dotted around the field, and about a quarter of a mile away, a lake stretched out. Little kids ran around, feeding ducks and chasing each other.
The hill started getting easier to climb. It was smoothing out, and I could tell we were getting closer to the top.
Just then, MJ must have miscalculated a step, and she slipped of the edge.
"MJ," We all yelled, almost in unison.
What happened next surprised me. Peter lunged forward, lightning quick, grabbed her arm, and pulled her up.
MJ looked terrified, which is not something you see everyday, but she quickly composed herself, let out a shaky "thanks," and stepped as far away from the edge as she could.
"No problem." Peter breathed, looking slightly shocked himself.
Ned slumped down on the path. He was so close to falling off, he let out a yelp, which sounded extremely girly.
"This is my life now. I have climbed up this hill, and now I shall die on it," he announced dramatically.
Percy laughed and MJ raised her eyebrows.
"Stop complaining. We've only been hiking for twenty minutes."
"Exactly." He answered. "Too damn long."
.

After we had finished our hike, we went over to the lake.
Ned complained that his legs were on the verge of dying.
We ignored him.
The lake was a light blue, shimmering like glitter under the sun. The few clouds that had gathered in the sky had almost dispersed completely.
"Only three per boat." The man at the dock told us. I smiled, already knowing.
"Ah, shame."
"Yeah. You know what. Peter and MJ can have their own boat. Me, Wise Girl and Ned can take the other one." Percy continued.
Before they could protest I handed a wad of money over to the man, grabbed Percy's hand and got in the boat, with Ned following in suit.
We watched as Peter and MJ looked at each other arkwardly and got into their own boat.
We didn't have any trouble steering, with Percy and all, but Ned didn't know that, and we let him believe he was a master boat - rower.
I snuck glances at Peter and MJ now and then, noticing the light blush that dusted their cheeks and their shy laughs. I was too far to hear what they were saying, but I hoped it was only a matter of time before they started dating.
My heart couldn't take this anymore.

I rested my head on Percy's shoulder. We were in his mum's apartment after our whole hiking thing was over.
Suddenly, a screen of mist appeared in front of us. And there stood Valdez.
"Guys. I need to go soon. Calypso and I are catching up on all the shows she missed when she was on Ogygia, but I need to tell you that I... the Mcshizzle Supreme. The one and only Valdez. The-"
"Get on with it," Percy interrupted.
He sighed before continuing,"I perfected the monster proof phones. I've told the others," he informed us, referring to the Argo II crew, "You can collect them tommorow."
The mist dissipated.
"Well... I'm not even surprised, you know."
