That was the name of your new school. It was if the world wanted you to burn with you attending a junior high with none of your friends. Unfortunately, your two boy-friends, Iwaizumi and Oikawa didn't go to this middle school, they went to another school which was closer to their homes.
You didn't know that one kilometre made such a difference in school choices.
Class 1-3 was your designated classroom. The teacher had already assigned a seating plan – you were planning to doze off and become the main protagonist by sitting beside the window, but you realised that your plans came to a ruin when you were seated the furthest row from the window – the wall right by the hallway.
Although you were glad that your seat was the last one in the row, it didn't help that anyone who would come through the back doors of the classroom could see what you were up to. It was basically a breach of privacy.
It seemed that your seat mate on the left was already struggling with his school life. His problem was that he was short, and you mean very short. Every single time he moved; your eyes gravitated towards his figure. The boy continued to extend his limbs in an attempt to gain height from his obstructed vision – which was the student in front of him.
As the teacher went through the basic school rules and expectations – you know, the terms and conditions that parents bat no eye to when enrolling their children into education; he noticed your seat mate wiggling, well, in his seat.
"Is there a problem... Nishinoya-san?"
"Not at all, sensei!"
"Would you mind not distracting the back row from your movements? I'd be happy to move you if you would like."
"Nope! It's all fine. Thank you for your concern."
Two words appeared in your mind after that student-teacher interaction – determined & weird. You could already tell that he was one of those types to never give up on someone, especially when he wants a specific answer.
The first period was short-lived and it was time for lunch. Your father had prepared a nice bento with your favourite ingredients – but what was there to enjoy when you had nobody to sit with?
This Nishinoya character already ran out of the classroom; you assumed he was trying to get to the front of the cafeteria line to not get caught up in what the Japanese call it, 'Lunchtime Rush.'
It was at that moment when something, or rather– someone caught your eye. You had recognised a girl that had come from your elementary school. You recalled that this girl didn't have that many friends for some sort of reason, but it was nice to see a familiar face.
However, unluckily for you, social interactions weren't your best skill and neither was this girl's. But one of you had to make the first move. You continued to stay seated in your spot at the back, contemplating on your next move like you were playing chess. Thing is, you had no idea how to play the game; just like how you didn't know how to make small talk.
After deciding that the first week was when everyone began to form their social groups, you needed to think fast and not be left behind. Looking around the room, it had already begun to break up into small circles, with only a few loners at their tables – presumably those students were waiting for someone to invite them.
You decided to take action, despite your mind telling you that it wasn't a good idea to talk without making a two-page script first. "H-Harue-san... Is that your name?"
