𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 by quickly, and before you knew it, you were already half-way through your first-year of high school.
Those sayings you heard about high school being the best time of your life was a lie. Albeit, you haven't experienced all three years, but either way, the first-year of high school was supposed to set the scene, wasn't it? At this rate, you were going to hate school more than yourself.
Perhaps this was due to your reluctance of joining in.
Your own self-isolation had made you despise the concept of high school. Wasn't it supposed to be fun? Why were you not enjoying yourself? You had a feeling it was because out of the many students, you only had two friends.
However, it's not like they always had time for you. The two of them both joined the volleyball club and seemed to be inseparable. If you suddenly joined in, you would be he third wheel.
Even if you wanted to make new friends, all the groups have been made already. Your presence was not wanted anywhere. And so, your social anxiety came back.
No one wanted to talk to you, and you didn't want to talk to anyone. It's a win-win situation, but... it gets lonely.
Nishinoya stopped walking you home since he was in a club and you weren't. He at first, was worried about leaving you alone. But you reassured him that it was fine.
Nowadays, it's not like you're living for anything.
What's the point in trying?
You began to wonder, if Nishinoya really cared about you, would he be trying harder at making you happy? Then again, it's not like you were paying him to make you laugh.
But it was questionable, wouldn't he continue to try to be around you... that is if he really cared.
[last name] [name] is a girl who is blinded by her own selfishness. By convincing herself that her best friend left her for another friend, she concluded that he didn't care about her anymore.
However, is wasn't like that at all.
Nishinoya still wanted to be around her – he tried everything. He met up with her childhood friends, Oikawa and Iwaizumi one day to get advice about her. He continued to pester Tanaka with what to do when girls are sad; it was just a coincidence that they had a bond over certain girls.
For Nishinoya it was [name]; for Tanaka it was the beautiful manager of the volleyball club.
[name] failed to realise that Nishinoya was trying his best behind the scenes. He didn't want her to worry about her own problems any longer.
He wanted to take that burden off of her – he wanted to carry some of that load.
If it was that easy, he would do it in a heartbeat. After all, his small body did grow a bit from middle school. He was sure that he could now assist the girl if she needed any heavyweight work done. Nishinoya was sure he could carry her to the moon and back – after all, he's always wanted to hold [name]; he wouldn't ever let her go.
[last name] [name] was too preoccupied in her own misery to see the path that Nishinoya had crafted for her. Instead of taking his clear, smooth road, she continued to walk on her muddy path.
Nishinoya wanted to divert her direction – using any means possible.
After all, what are best friends for?
He slightly shrivelled up at the words, 'best friend.'
