The next morning, I go to the garage to check if Matt is still breathing, luckily he didn't pee on the seat but it stinks as he did it somewhere in the garage. He wakes up a few seconds after I get there.
-Good morning sweetheart,- I say sarcastically. -Get up now, I have a lot of work ahead and people to save.-
-Uugh, what happened last night? How could you leave me here? my whole body hurts!.-
-I told you, you are too big and heavy to carry you myself, you shouldn't drink yourself unconscious! Here, I made you coffee. You can shower and stay here until you are ready to go home.-
I'm really mad at him but I don't know if it's because he got drunk and made a fool of himself last night or if I'm channeling my anger for Luisa and Nick.
That's why I hate feelings, I was better when I had repressed everything.
I'd like to talk to Hannah and hold her accountable for the stupid thing I did... kissing Nick last night, but she's on her honeymoon with Edward.
Poor man, he married a crazy woman, I love her, but She doesn't think about the consequences of her actions.
I love my job more than anything in the world. As soon as I get to the hospital, I feel like I'm at peace, in control of what's going on (and you never know what will come through the doors). But here, I stop thinking about Matt, Nick, my parents, and my failed love life.
That is until I return to my office to get my things and find a huge bouquet on my desk with a white note, no return address, and in perfect gold script: "to Eliza Cooper."
-Andy? Do you know who left this bouquet on my desk? - my assistant shrugs her shoulders and says;
-It was brought by a messenger and only indicated that it was for you. I imagine it comes from Doctor Levy-.
-Ah, okay! , thanks ... it's time to go, don't stay too late. See you tomorrow.-
-Good night boss, and congratulations on your new relationship,- she tells me with a wink. I just smile at her, knowing that Matt isn't exactly a romantic guy but this gesture warms my heart.
If Matt sent it, it's a really cute gesture and makes me smile that he wants to win me over or at least apologize for peeing in my garage.
I check my mobile since I haven't seen it since last night and it was vibrating during the night. I don't have any new messages from Matt since before the wedding.
Last night, I received several from Hannah, asking what had happened after she left and telling me how spectacular Venice is, the place of her honeymoon.
Another from Nick, explaining what happened with Luisa, I was right, something did happened between them, I assume that my brother gave him my number, but there is nothing about the bouquet.
-Whoever sent it will text me about it soon,- I tell myself, -so I won't give it any more thought-
When I get home, I realize that Matt is gone, I'm really glad, I don't have the energy for anything other than getting to my bed.
Later...
I wake up with a jump and somewhat lost, I see the time and it is 3:00 am.
I see the light of the mobile turn on, it means that I have a new message.
With one eye open and one closed, I read: "Did you like my gift?" It is an unknown number.
-Who you are? I don't recognize the number.
-Guess! -
-Ugh, I have no idea, seriously, who are you?- I hate these games.
-Just someone who admires you a lot.-
-Great!. I have no time for nonsense, - I answer somewhat irritated by how childish this is, besides, I am almost sure that it is a joke by one of my friends, siblings, or Matt himself.
-You look beautiful when you sleep; - says the caption of the photograph that he just sent me, it is from a moment ago.
