The loud sound of an alarm was what woke Andrea AKA Andy Lawrence from her slumber. For a second she forgot it wasn't hers and slammed her hand down on it, cringing when the noise didn't stop. Slowly peeling her eyes open, she found the reason, it wasn't her alarm it was her fathers.

"Dad turn that shit off!" A small grumble came from across the hall before a loud bang as Johnny Lawrence slammed off his alarm. Andy sighed in relief and laid back down, checking her cell phone to see it was 7am.

"Sorry An." Johnny mumbled from his bedroom, sitting up. A second later Andy heard the sound of her father spitting out something, making her laugh.

"Week old beer dad, good job." She chuckled, making him let out a small shut up before he grabbed his newer one from last night.

A few minutes later, Johnny was showered and ready and was in the kitchen making breakfast for himself and his daughter.

"You want some fried bologna!?" Johnny yelled from the kitchen as Andy was still in her room, checking her messages from overnight.

"Sure!" She finally managed to sit up, groaning as she did. She left her room in a pair of shorts and one of her fathers old shirts. She didn't have to be ready just yet.

"What are you doing today?" Johnny mumbled, still cooking.

"Hanging out with Aisha, then movies with Eli and Demetri at 3," Andy yawned. "Meeting Aisha at 10 at her place."

"Well kick ass, alright? You know you can call me, work or not."

Johnny wasn't the worlds best father, but he did try his best. He worked as many jobs as possible to raise enough money to give his daughter whatever she needed and wanted. He couldn't stop her from getting her own job at the mini mart down the road though. She worked on putting food in their fridge and he worked on keeping the bills caught up. It was a win-win for the family. Andy was content with her life, after being separated from her drug addict of a mother at age 6, she thought this was her best being.

Despite Johnny failing Robby, he promised himself and her mother not to fail Andy.

The father and daughter moved towards the dining room, Johnny giving her the plate of 2 pieces of fried bologna, handing her the hot sauce after using it himself. She cringed as she used the last bit. Flickering on the TV, the duo sat in silence as they ate.

"Alright uh, our spare money is in the jar if you need it, be careful on the ride to what's-her-name's and to the movies, call me if you need me."

"Got it, love you."

"Love you too."

"Hey will you take out the trash on your way out?"

Johnny grabbed the bag and left the apartment with the trash and his tool box in hand. Andy watched him go before sighing and turning back to the TV, where she watched for a couple more minutes before going to take a shower.

"Fucking water pressure." She mumbled to herself as the water splashed her body, not hard enough. The water wasn't so good at the apartments, it was either scolding or freezing and you had to spend 20 minutes finding the right temp in order to even survive for more than 10 seconds. Although she never complained, some people had it worse than her.

After a shower and a quick change of clothes, she realized it was time to go. Grabbing her bag, phone, and skateboard, Andy left the beat up apartment and locked up the house.

"Uh, Hi!" Turning around out of surprise, Andy spotted a young boy with tan skin and braces shinning inside his mouth. Miguel was slightly surprised to see such a pretty girl leave the same apartment as the rude man, but nevertheless enjoyed the view while he could.

"Oh uh, hi." Andy smiled, adjusting her bag on her shoulder.

"I'm Miguel Diaz, me, my mom and my Yiayia just moved in." He held out his hand for a handshake.

"Andrea Lawrence but everyone calls me Andy, I live here with my dad." She pointed behind her to apartment two after shaking his hand.

"He was your dad? I tried to say hi but all he did was walk off. Not to mention he put bottles in the wrong bin." Miguel pointed down the way and then shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Oh yeah, he's not too great with talking to people, and I've tried teaching him about the bins it doesn't work," She laughed to herself. "So, are you going to West Valley?"

"I am! I got registered today," He smiled helplessly, unable to stop as he stared at the attractive girl in front of him.

"Cool! I go there too, so you'll have one friend when we start," Andy giggled. Her phone beeped in her hand, letting her know if she didn't leave now she would be late to meeting up with Aisha.

"I better go, my friend's waiting on me. It was great meeting you, see you soon, Diaz!" Setting her board down, she skated off without waiting for an answer.

"Uh, see ya!" Miguel said nervously, watching her ride off. He face palmed as soon as she was out of sight, convincing himself he somehow made a fool of himself. "Stupid stupid stupid."

"She's pretty, no?"

Miguel screamed out a girly scream as his Yiayia spoke up from his apartment doorway.
