I woke up to Johnny's banging on my typewriter. I looked at him, his face In a flush from the adrenalin, it made me laugh as well as making me pissed off, so I just sat up and watched him.
"Can't you just leave it alone please" I rubbed my face as the typing noises abruptly stopped.
"Can't you just piss off" he started to type again before stopping, "please" he said with sarcasm. This boy was going to give me a stroke some day.
"Why can't you just talk to me properly, like an actual sibling" I stood up and whipped the paper out of his hand to see what he wrote. Of course, a fake letter to some random teacher explaining the process of barbarically kicking her out of school. He stood up and took the paper back, scrunching it into a small ball.
"You're my sister, the exact reason that I don't want to talk to you properly" he threw the paper into the bin, scoring as usual.
"I don't want to share rooms with you anymore." I walked away from him to he front door, in which he followed.
"Neither do I, I wanna be with pony" he said. I widened my eyes in disbelief.
"SWAP THEN!" I shouted at him. The next minute I was knocked to the side of me by the door. It was Dally, holding a big sandwich full of shit.
"Can't you two schmucks just shut up for a split second" he spoke, a bit of the food dropping onto his foot.
"Tell her to stop being a bitch then, I don't wanna share a room with her" he said. I rolled my eyes at him.
"fine then, goddammit. I'll share with you and Greenie will share with Pony" Dal wiped away (what looked like) mayonnaise from his cheek and have Johnny a small punch, before turning to me.
"It's gonna be better now" Dal winked at me before walking out. I stuck my finger up at Johnny and walked to the kitchen, where Ponyboy was sitting having a bowl of cereal. I never actually had a proper conversation with him, it was usually just a few jokes here and there. I didn't know him really.
"Pony" I said, sitting opposite him. He looked up with a frown.
"Greenie?" He answered more like a question.
"What are you reading" I asked. He looked at the newspaper before back at me, blankly.
"Just some news" he wavered the paper in front of my face, giving a awkward laugh. I just smiled.
"I've had enough of sharing with Johnny so I'm sharing with you now" I told him. His face shot up, and his hazel eyes bore into mine in shock.
"I guess that's okay" he stuttered, so i smiled. He looked around the worn out kitchen before looking directly at me once again. "Want some breakfast?" He got up and walked over to the frying pan, turning on the hob and putting oil into the pan.
"Nah I'm alright for now" I sat where he was and flicked through the news paper. Just crimes and new cases appearing from the outside world, the usual. And folded it up and chucked it into a carrier bag with a bunch of other newspapers. A few minutes later, he sat opposite me with a fry up. He seemed really hungry, baked bean sauce getting on the table and on his napkin. I awkwardly watched him, trying to stifle my laugh but he saw me.
"I'm really hungry Greenie, don't laugh at me" he frowned, swallowing what looked like egg and taking the bowl to the living room. I followed him in and Steve and Soda had just left for work, leaving Dally and Johnny. They finally appeared out of separate rooms, fixing up their hair and straightening their denim and leather jackets. As much as I despised of my brother, he did have a good fashion sense for such a dipshit.
"Where you going?" I asked them as the rushed off.
"Shut up Greenie" johnny stuffed his hands into his jacket pocket and walked out the front door. Dally rolled his eyes and looked at pony.
"Taking him out for breakfast, we'll be back by six don't wait up" he said, shutting the door behind him. Pony sighed as he carried on eating his breakfast in front of the TV. There was nothing to do so I sat beside him.
"We don't actually know a lot about each other" I stated. He swallowed hard before staring at me with wide eyes.
"What are you on about, we've lived with each other for 10 years I know you" he stood up and took his bowl to the kitchen.
"Fine then, when's my birthday" I followed him.
"December" he stated confidently. I raised my eyebrows and he stared blankly.
"The what" I asked. He stayed quiet for a few seconds before questioning himself.
"The seventeenth?" His voice went high pitched and I smiled.
"Twenty seventh" I replied. He nodded and walked back into te living room.
"Well what's there to learn"
"A lot"
