I woke up and everything was bright again. It was sunrise, and I almost had a heart attack when I realised that we had both slept here the night. My memory was pretty vague from last night, and I was worried that something might have happened apart from what actually DID happen.
Beside me was a still sleeping ponyboy. His baby curls were bouncing every time he let out a small snore, and he was in a cocoon shape to keep himself warm I guess. I sat up and put on my cardigan that was slightly muddy and crossed my legs, looking out to the abandoned car park. I thought about everything that happened last night, which I loved but hated at the same time. Nothing else could happen between us, we needed to just forget about it and move on. Staying as friends was it. None of the boys at home could find out, if they did-
"Um, Greenie?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked beside me to see a less tired ponyboy.
"What?" I said a bit too harsh. He frowned and shook his head, standing up and throwing a stone at a gate.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude" I stood up and sat beside him underneath a tree. He weakly smiled and rested his chin on his knees as he brought them to his chest.
"Are you scared?" He asked me. I shrugged.
"I know what you're gonna say, it can't happen again" he said as if he read my thoughts. I looked at his disappointed face, lying on his shoulder.
"I want it to but it can't" I told him, playing with the hem of his purple shirt.
"Cause of the boys and stuff" he answered. I nodded.
"What are we gonna say when we go back home" I asked.
"Just say we fell asleep whilst watching a movie in the parking lot." He stated simply. I sighed. He moved a little and I winced at it, since it was the cheek that Dally had slapped.
"What's wrong" he moved my head and looked at the bruise. He frowned.
"Nothing" I whispered.
"You've got a bruise, what happened" he looked at me. I just shook my head. He stood up and begin to walk off.
"Where are you going?" I shouted.
"If you won't tell me then I'll tell them" he referred to the boys, so I ran after him. I pulled his shoulder back and he frowned once again.
"It was Dally" I said. He began to run but I stopped him.
"He's not getting away with this" he said.
"No, it doesn't matter anymore. He caught me sitting with Annie in the cafe so he slapped me for it, that's all" I told him breathlessly.
"But there's a bruise-"
"Please pony" I held both of his arms and he stared blankly. He wriggled out of my hands and sighed. I hugged him and we begun to walk back to the house.

This was going to be interesting.
