The next day I woke up at around 9am. I decided this was a good day to go out since there's nothing better to do, so I went into the bathroom to have a shower. All the guys had gone out apart from pony of course, so again we had the house to ourselves. Once I came out of the shower, I went back into my room to get dressed. I put on a peach ankle length skirt with a black crop top, before putting my hair into a high ponytail and a red bow around it. My shoes were a low heeled black patent pair- I felt pretty satisfied with my outfit.
I walked out of my room and at the same time Pony walked out of the bathroom. His hair was gelled back a little, which suited him. He took a double take of me which made me a little paranoid.
"Is something wrong" I asked him subconsciously.
"No, no, you look really nice that's all" he looked at my satin skirt as I felt myself blush again.
"Where are you going" I changed the subject. His eyes entered mine.
"Nowhere fancy, told johnny I'd meet him at the car lot. Where are you going?" He asked.
"I don't know, just window shopping" I shrugged. He nodded.
"Are you leaving now?" I asked.
"Yeah are you?" He said. I nodded and he opened the front door for me with manner. I jokingly curtseyed in front of him before walking out, making him laugh. We walked out of the boulevard together before he got to the parking lot.
"I'll see you at home, yeah?" He grabbed onto the netting. I nodded before waving him off.Now alone, I trudged the streets looking for things to do. I visited an ice cream parlour where I saw Annie. We sat together and were talking for a while, but Dally saw me through the window and ordered me home. He pulled me out of the resturaunt onto the street with the rest of them.
"What did I tell you about hanging out with her?" He shouted in my face.
"There was no one else to sit with" I answered back. He slapped my face sharply, leaving a burning tingling sensation on my left cheek. I put my hand over in shock. He lunged for me but I ran down the street the opposite way home, past the parking lot. I could hear johnny and Steve shouting my name but I didn't care, I needed space. I turned past the parking lot where I saw a group of Socs crowding around someone. I stopped for a second, trying to see in between the crowds. It was pony. His stomach was bruised, his throat was purposely cut and he had blood covered. I ran over to them all and pushed through. It was Bob, the leader of the Socs and Annie's ex.
"Who's this lass" he screamed, and all his friends chuckled around him.
"Don't hurt her" pony pushed between breaths. I shielded his body and Bob raised an eyebrow at me. He leaned forward until he was only a few centimetres away. My breathing hitched as I could feel his ice cold breath on my nose. He sighed.
"A couple years older and you'd be mine, shame isn't it" he stood up and I could feel pony boy push against my arm to beat him but he had no strength. All of the boys laughed and walked towards their pristine mini cars.
"I'll be back pony" Bob's voice echoed through the lonely cinema lot, before I watched them enter their cars and drive away with no remorse at all, but laughter. I turned towards pony, who looked half unconscious.
"I should take you to hospital" I said. He held my arm and shook his head.
"But-"
"I've been in worse, don't worry" his voice was strained.
"Well we can't go home" I looked at his bruise on his stomach.
"No, they'd kill me for not being strong enough to fight them back" he said slowly. I nodded.
"Where can we go" I asked him.
"Walk through the parking lot, there's a private area that I visit" he strained. I nodded and slowly put his arm around my neck, lifting him up. I felt bad for each moan, because of how much pain he was in.Once we got to the other side, I lay him down on the grass and he sighed. It was getting dark, around sunset now. His breathing was slow and deep.
"How are you feeling" I asked him.
"No better but I'm getting used to the pain" he tried to laugh but the pain was too much. I pulled a napkin out of my pocket and dampened it at the water fountain. I dabbed it on his bruises and cleaned up any blood. He winced but I kept him calm. It was amazing at how much better he looked once I cleaned him up, but then I realised that e was cold. I took off my cardigan and wrapped it around his body. He attempted to give it back but I was adamant that he kept it. He moved a little but it looked uncomfortable, so I lay his head on my lap.
"This is so much warmer" he smiled. I laughed a little, moving any stray strands of hair out of his face.
"Thank you so much Greenie" he sighed.
"It's alright, I've got to look after you" I replied.
"Yeah but I'm the guy, it should be me taking care of you" he said. I shook my head.
"Forget about that." I replied. He looked at me as I stroke his hair back.
"Stay gold Greenie" he told me. I looked at him in the eyes, the sun making them shine a golden green colour. I nodded and he sat up. He leaned in and I couldn't help but lean in too. I never realised the feelings before but it all made sense now, just like his speech on gold.
He switched places with me, laying me down on the ground as soft as possible, his hands around my waist. My hands were tangled in his hair, it felt greasy but I wasn't really bothered.
"Stay gold, pony boy"
