You're in Slytherin.
"Hey, how are you today?" Penny whispered beside me in Potions. I ignored her.
"Class, today we will be learning about Amortentia, otherwise known as 'the most powerful love potion known to mankind'...for now." He added.
"Now, please. Someone tell me what is Amortentia?" Snape asked before pointing at me.
"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in existence. It causes a powerful infatuation or obsession from the drinker. It has a distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from it in characteristic spirals." I said while others were taking notes.
"Very good. 15 points to Slytherin!" Snape shouted, the Slytherins cheering while the Hufflepuffs groaned.
As we all lined up, each student observed the potion and took a whiff of Amortentia, blushing while going back to their seats. Not expecting much, I took a whiff of the potion, and was slightly surprised when I smelled something. Hm, a hint of potions, elder wood, and.....What was it. I must've have smelled it somewhere, but I can't remember.
"Haywood, tell me what did you smell."
"I smelled fresh egg nog, a cauldron, an-and that's it." She told the class quickly after pausing for a second.
"What about you?" Snape asked, looking straight at me.
"I smelled elder wood, a hint of potions, and something else that I may have smelled before but forgotten." I finished, sitting back down.
As class continued however, I noticed Penny glancing towards me several times but I ignored her.
After class though, when she came over, I said
"It's not good to not paying attention in class."
Just as we were walking to each other, I smelled the scent again.
"Hm, it's the same scent, but where did it come from?" I muttered the question underneath my breath, but while deep in thought, I didn't notice Penny slightly blushing at me.
