Zayn's Pov:

I was off in dream land, and of course who was I dreaming about?

Take a wild guess, it was Harry.

I smile, as he runs to me, and we hug each other tightly.

It's like Harry is never going to let go.

That's what I always wanted.

But then my happy moment is interrupted, by Doctor Leo's voice.

"Zayn it's time to wake up," He says.

Slowly I open my eyes, and stare around at the room.

I am confused for a moment, but then I remember what had happened.

Alan had beat me so bad, that my broken rib had punteractered my lung.

I had surgery, and groaned as I tried to sit up.

"Easy you'll be sore for awhile." "We had to put a metal plate in there," Doctor Leo says seriously, and pats me on the shoulder.

"Thanks for fixing me up Doctor Leo," I say shyly.

"No problem." "But Zayn you need to tell me the truth," Doctor Leo mumbles, looking into my eyes.

I panic a little, and try looking away.

It doesn't help, his eyes are too mesmerizing.

"What is it?," I ask nervously, wiping my hands on my blanket, and clasping them together.

"This wasn't an accident," Doctor Leo says, and is very patient with me.

I hated that, I couldn't just tell Doctor Leo my secret.

That's what he didn't get.

I had to carry this to my grave, which I might be in soon, because Alan was going to kill me if I didn't get home soon.

"Of course it was." "I got into a fight at school and had to defend myself," I say, letting the lie slip from my lips.

Sure school wasn't paradise, but I had never been in a fight.

Yet I was sitting here lying to protect, an abusive asshole named Alan.

I had no idea why, but maybe just maybe on some sick level I did love him.

So I wanted to protect him, even though he abused me.

"Zayn please I care about your safety," Doctor Leo says taking my hands in his.

It was kind of weird, but I let him do it.

He was just trying to help, but I couldn't be helped.

There was no point, nobody could save me.

Harry appeared outside of my room, and Doctor Leo kindly let us have a minute.

"I'm so glad you are okay," Harry says smiling, and hugs me.

Not as tightly as normal, the doctors must have told him, that they had to put plates in.

"I am too," I say shyly, and kiss Harry on the cheek.

Not being able to do that, had been torture.

Harry's cheek was so soft, and he just blushed when I did that.

"You were pretty banged up," Harry says thoughtfully.

"Yeah I'm clumsy," I shrug my shoulders, trying to make it believable.

Yeah I'm clumsy, but this clumsy.

I can't tell if Harry was buying it or not.

But he looked kind of confused for a moment.

"What's wrong?," I ask shyly.

"Nothing it's just that Doctor Leo told me you got hurt in a fight," Harry mumbles.

Oh shit.

I had fucked up, I should have known Doctor Leo was going to talk to Harry if he was concerned about me.

Damn him, and his concern.

I just wanted to get out of here.

It was driving me crazy, being stuck in this bed.

"Did he say when I could get out?," I ask, smiling, hoping Harry wasn't mad.

"I'll go find him," Harry promises, and leaves the room.

Harry walks down the hallway, and disappears out of sight.

Thank goodness, a moment to myself.

Not that I don't like Harry's attention, but I didn't need him figuring everything out.

It was hard enough keeping the secret from Doctor Leo.

They both came back into the room, and Harry took a seat.

There was an awkward silence lingering, and I was the first one to break it.

"So when can I leave?," I ask hopefully.

"Not for a couple of days I'm afraid," Doctor Leo explains.

I look down, and Harry is avoiding eye contact.

He's pissed that I lied, but there was no way I could be honest.

"Why can't I leave?," I ask shyly.

"I have to keep an eye on you." "In case the plate would need to be replaced, or need to be put back into place," Doctor Leo explains smiling at me.

"Okay," I agree, knowing there was no point in arguing.

I think the plate wasn't the issue, it was the fact that Doctor Leo needed to know I wouldn't get hurt for at least a couple of days.

But at least I wouldn't have to face Alan, not yet anyways.

Doctor Leo checked my fluids, and made sure I was comfortable.

"I'll be back later." "I have rounds," Doctor Leo assures me, and walks briskly down the hall.

"I'll stay with you," Harry whispers, bringing the chair next to me.

"You will?," I ask in shock.

"Yeah." "What do you want to watch?," Harry asks grinning.

I was so scared he was going to be mad, but I was wrong.

Harry was a much better person, than I was.

So we spent the day watching crap tv at the hospital, and eating crap food.

But I hadn't had a much better day.
