Chapter 15 - The Music Ceremony

Hey guys! I'm happy that you all are loving the love story of Alisha and Nathan. I tried to make it a little bit different from Anya and Luke's love story and how they became each other's mates. This chapter is going to have a lot of music references, so there will be a lot of music videos within this chapter. ALISHA

"Thank goodness that nothing happened yesterday during the mehendi ceremony. Let's just hope and pray to the Goddess that there is no surprise attack on the three of us," I whisper to Nathan. "I know babe."

It's late morning and both families are currently practicing their dances for the sangeet tonight and there is a competition going on between both families, which will be a sight to see and that will make the sangeet even more exciting. I'm doing three performances, and the first performance is with Navya didi, Dhriti and Anya, the second performance is with Nathan, and the last performance is with my brother.

"Alisha, come here. We have to practice," Ayaan calls for me. "Coming." I rise from the chair and walk over to the stage to practice with Ayaan on our song. "Nothing happened yesterday?" Ayaan asks me. "Nothing happened. Don't worry."

I know that it's hard for him to not be worried. Even though this week is about him and Lisa, he's only thinking about me, Navya didi and Anya, and our safety, which I don't blame him, but he needs to focus on himself and Lisa. They're getting married and this is special for them.

"Ok. Ready? 5, 6, 7, 8!"

Dance practice went on for quite a while, and we finished and all of us rested during break. Now, we're in our rooms, getting ready for the sangeet.

"So, Anya, is there any special someone in your life that we should know about?" Dhriti asks Anya. She shakes her head and responds, "As long as I have overprotective parents and brothers in my life, I can't ever meet a 'special someone'."

"I find that hard to believe," Dhriti says. "But that's how it is. But thanks to my Chachi, I've been getting a leeway to some things. Whenever I want to go out somewhere and Papa wouldn't let me go, Chachi always has to jump in and somehow change his mind and give me some freedom. But there were times when Papa wouldn't listen to Mama and it would affect me. I'm 22, but I don't have the freedom that I want, and God knows when I will get the freedom," She says.

I was feeling bad for Anya. Whatever she's going through right now, I went through it with my parents until they told me the truth, but her parents have not told her the truth and there is no point because they extracted the solution from her when she was born and won't change until she's 23.

"Anya, maybe they have a reason as to why they're being protective of you," I try to have her see the other side of the situation and Dhriti looks at me, and her face was telling me 'don't say a word.' I reassure her that I won't say anything to Anya. "Alisha, if they had a reason, then they would tell me instead of hiding it from me. Which can only mean one thing: they don't have a reason. Probably because I'm a girl, they don't give me as much freedom as they give to my brothers. So unfair," Anya answers back.

At this point, I really had nothing to say and just stared ahead in the mirror. I wish I can tell Anya everything, but I can't. I know that when she finds out the truth, she might not forgive me because I knew the truth and didn't bother to tell her.

After an hour, our hair and makeup were done, and the three of us changed into our outfits and went downstairs to the hall and saw how it was beautifully decorated and the hall was buzzing with guests, friends, and family members. My eyes were looking for Nathan and I suddenly feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I turn around and meet with those striking blue eyes. "Damn you're looking hot every day. I don't know how I'm going to keep my hands away from you," Nathan says, and I could see lust in his eyes.
