Chapter 7 - The Mark

ALISHA

When you're in a relationship and your boyfriend is meeting your parents for the first time ever, and then your parents say that we need to talk. I didn't know what the girl of the family would be feeling, but now I know. It's scary.

My heart is beating so fast and I'm scared to know what my parents need to talk to Nathan about. "Can we sit down somewhere?" Mom suggests.

"Of course. We can go in the living room," Navya didi satisfies Mom's suggestion and we all walk downstairs. Nathan and I were the last ones who were about to walk out of the room, and all of a sudden, Nathan grabbed my arm and held me back. "Babe, what do you think your parents want to talk to me about?" He asks and I could hear the fear in his voice.

"Is the great Alpha Nathan Casey.....scared?" I tease him and he suddenly straightens his back and acts 'proud' by puffing up his chest.

"Ok Alpha Nathan, no need to be proud. Let's go." We both hold hands and walk down the stairs and into the living room and there, my parents were sitting on the couch along with Navya didi and Liam. Nathan's cousin, Luke, was nowhere to be seen and I'm assuming that he's probably with Ranveer.

Nathan and I walk in the living room and sit on the couch next to Navya didi. Dad starts, "Nathan, I'm assuming that when Navya and Liam found out that you are Alisha's mate, they have probably told you about Alisha's....."

"Yes Mr. Bhatt, Navya and Liam told me about it, and I am willing to do everything and anything to save Alisha." He looks over at me with......love in his eyes.

"I hope so." Mom says with hope. I know my parents are worried for me and I guess they should since they are my parents. "Ok mom, dad, even though you barely said anything, but I think Nathan has understood."

"But—"

"Don't worry, Mr. and Mrs. Bhatt. As long as Alisha is with me, I won't let anything happen to her. I won't even let her out of my sight. I will have one of my pack members be her bodyguard 24/7."

"Ok ok ok that's a little too much. I don't need a bodyguard." I try to make it clear. "Alisha, if you have a bodyguard with you, then nothing will happen to you," Ayaan tells me.

"Bhai, if you give me a bodyguard, then you will be curbing my freedom and you know that I don't like that," I remind him.

"Alisha—"

"Nathan, I was talking to Liam about her protection and to be honest, I had the same fear and also decided to appoint a bodyguard for her. But Liam was explaining to me that Alisha is the Delta of the Bhatt pack and she knows how to take care of herself," Navya didi explains to Nathan.

"I know that Alisha can take care of herself but—"

"Nathan, never underestimate the power of common woman. Trust me, I've learned from that," Liam says and Navya didi lightly slaps him on the bicep and we all share a little laugh.

Nathan laughed also and looked at me with worry, but he then said, "Ok I won't give you a bodyguard. But if you are in trouble, please tell me honey, ok?" I nod at him and he kisses me on the cheek. "Ok well we should be on our way," Mom and Papa rise from the couch.

"On the way? But Papa, Mom, you just got here," I tell them.

"Yes beta, but we're also here for a meeting with an ally, so we have to go now. We'll catch up with you later tonight, ok?" Papa tells me.

"Ok then." Papa kisses me on the forehead, Mom and Ayaan hug me and leaves the house. Navya didi and Liam went to the kitchen and, Nathan and I went upstairs to my room. He closed the door behind him, I turned around and he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him, looking down at me with those striking blue eyes.
