"Can you put that fish ornament on the right side?" Your mom said, pointing to the part of the tree facing the window.
After what seemed like forever, the two of you finally managed to fit the large tree through your doorway and into the corner of your living room. You were forced to move some furniture in order for it to fit, but overall it looked a lot better than you had anticipated.
You and your mom were almost done with the decorating at this point with only a few ornaments left to set up.
"Whatever happened to that set of daisy ornaments?" You asked after placing the glass fish on the tree and rummaging through the box.
"Daisy ornaments?" Your mom repeated nervously.
You turned to her with a frown, she sounded so suspicious, "I know you did something."
Your mom stopped what she was doing and sighed, "I... broke them..."
"You what!?"
You shot up from the box, "Mom! Those were my favorite!"
"I know. I know. It was an accident!" Your mom exclaimed. Her phone begun to ring suddenly in her jean pocket. You pouted as she picked up. It was fine she broke them on accident, thing happen like that all the time. But you couldn't help but be sad about your favorite ornaments.
"Hey! Fuyumi!"
You forgot all your sorrows in a second at the sound of that name, wondering what she could be calling about.
"Mmm. Not really... We don't usually have too many plans... Yeah... Wait, really!?" Your mom's face lit up with excitement and you were eager for her to tell you the news.
"Oh! That would be so fun!... I bet Y/n would love that too!... Yes, of course... Ah! Let's work on more details later then... Goodbye!"
You clasped your hands together, approaching your mom with a grin, "What did she call about?!"
"The Todorokis want to spend Christmas with us!" Your mom exclaimed. You felt like you could faint at the exciting news. Woah. This Christmas was going to be heaven.
"Oh my God!" You squealed and danced around the tree, "This is going to be so, so fun!"
"I know! Plus we've never spent Christmas with another family!" Your mom joined in on the dancing, holding your hands and spinning.
"Christmas with the Todorokis~ Christmas with the Todorokis~" You both sang in harmony.
You stopped abruptly and squeezed your mom's hands, "Speaking of. I got Shoto's number when we went to the mall."
"O.M.G! You should text him about it right now!" she exclaimed.
Your mom still sung and danced as you pulled out your phone, smiling when you saw Shoto's name and his cute contact photo. Ploping on the couch, you began to text him:
You: hey! this is y/n. your sister just called saying we should spend christmas together!
"I can't wait to see what he says!" You commented, sinking into the soft cushions of the couch and hugging a pillow with Santa on it.
Your mom went over to the old CD player and began to play some Christmas music, "What's better than spending the holidays with your crushhh~" she teased.
You tried to frown, but you couldn't stop yourself from smiling.
"Hey. Cross your fingers they set up mistletoe in their doorway," she said.
