"What are you looking at?" Asked Anjali as they walked through the markets of Udaipur.
Pratap looked around and then glanced back at his wife shaking his head.
"But...you do look slightly..."
"No it's nothing, I was looking at the city palace." He lied with a smile. "Let's continue shopping." He insisted dragging her into a jewelry shop.
"But listen I'm not fond of gold...." She argued and continued raising her head like a meerkat and look around the sea of people.
"I know, but I love gold." He chuckled and pushed open the shop door.
Sitting in the shop, the excited salesman began showing them the various Kundan and Borla jewelry. Anjali scowled looking at the heavy necklaces and complained, "There's no point buying these! When will I wear it?"
Pratap's eyes were fixed on the glass door of the shop. It was like he was looking or waiting for someone. Anjali followed his gaze and leaned a little closer asking, "What is wrong?"
"Just buy something," smiled Pratap, "later don't complain that my husband never bought anything for me."
"But your heart and mind is on something else only!" She exclaimed furrowing her brows once more.
Pratap finally picked up a pair of gold jhumkas from the stand and held it in front of Anjali's eyes saying, "Here, I wanted to buy this for you."
Anjali looked at the jhumkas and then at Pratap exclaiming, "How on earth are you so much in love with me today!?"
She has a problem with that also! Thought Pratap. His eyes wide in astonishment.
"What are you hiding from me?" She asked narrowing her eyes at him.
"I love you." He grinned and handed it over the salesman saying. "Please pack this."
"You are....by nature a miser right?" Taunted Anjali. "What made you buy me gold jhumkas?" She asked, stressing on the word 'gold'.
"I'm not a miser." He retorted as he swiped his card.
