Chapter 11 - The Mermaid

Astrid's P.O.V

Why must I be an idiot? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY? I just HAD to go and ruin their moment, didn't I? I facepalmed and sighed at my dumbness.

''What's wrong Little Dove?'' I jumped at the sound of Draven's voice. I turned around with a hand on my chest.

''Draven! Don't jump on me like that! You scared me.'' I tell him. He gives me a chuckles and comes up to me and wraps his arms around my waists, He then pits his chin on my head, Almost like as if he was tucking me in to him. That's a weird way to express it. 

''What did you do?'' Instead of answering him, i just buried myself more in to his chest, blushing (probably) like a tomato.''no no, Don't you even think about hiding. It can't be that embarrassing...Right?'' I break out of his embrace and start waffling. Literally.

''SOISAWNEPTUNEANDDEXAMDTHEYWEREABOUTTOKISSANDMEBEINGTHEIDIOTWALKEDUPONINTHEMALMOSTKISSINGANDIFEELSOBADBECAUSEMYSISTERCOULDNTHAVEHERFIRSTKISSBECAUSEOFME.'' please tell me he understands.

I look at him with a flushed face. I then heard the most musical voice in my entire life. I'm sure i was blessed. I heard Draven laugh. It was like Bell chimes but make it softer, smooth. I would listen to that laugh again again and never get bored. It was beautiful. He was beautiful.

''So what you're saying is you walked on my brother and Neptune almost kissing?'' He said laughing in between. I nod. '' Well that sure is embarrassing since it was Dexter and Neptune's first kiss.'' Oh alright- WAIT A CHOCOLATE DONUT MINUTE!! IT WAS Dexter's FIRST KISS TOO? i think pure shock was on my face, since Draven replied, ''I know when you first meet him , you think he'd be a play boy, But I promise he's nothing like that. He was just as shy as Neptune probably was.''

''THAT MAKES IT WORSE! I RUINED BOTH OF THEIR FIRST TIME. WHY AM I SUCH AN IDIOT-''

He puts a finger on my lips to quiet me.''Don't you dare call yourself that. Your nothing like that. Everybody does mistake, it's not your fault. It happens to the best of us.'' He looks at me expecting a reaction. I couldn't function, whenever he's this close to me I seem to do the opposite. I malfunction. So I gathered all my energy and managed to nod. '' Good. Now shall we go see them.'' I widened my eyes in terror and shake my head, really fast. I was still embarrassed so I did what I do best. The solution to all my problems.

Avoiding them.

He chuckles at my childish behavior and nods. '' Alright, but we really should get going and continuing our journey.'' 

''Can you go and look for them, I'm gonna get ready to leave.'' With a nod, he goes to find the love birds. 

I rub my hands together, ''Lets get started.''

''I'm avoiding both of them. Try and change my mind. It won't work.'' I stubbornly told Draven.

''Well, you're going to talk to your sister eventually.''

''Well when that eventually comes, then i'll speak to her but for now she doesn't exists.'' Draven gives me a 'are-you-for-real?' Look. ''Yes, i'm for real! I can't look at either of them without being humiliated.'' Draven shakes his head and frowns.

''Now you're just being stubborn and acting childish. It's fine. they probably don't even care. Stop creating unnecessary fuss.'' Okay, so I get it that I might be acting a little childish but why did he have to be so rude for?

'' Maybe I am and clearly you don't understand where I'm coming from!''

'' Yeah, I don't! act your age! just grow up-''
