U M É M A' S P O V
"WHAT?" I screeched hearing his words.
In return, Shariq laughed out like a maniac he is.
"Happy April Fools!" He chimed in as I sighed out of relief. Like it would be so weird if he loved me. Eh. "I am not at all in love with you."
"What kind of sick joke was that? I had nearly gotten a heart attack!" I slapped him across his arm.
"You were in such a bad mood, I thought I should lighten it up. How can you forget that today was first April?"
"Amid all the chaos, I forgot. But don't worry, I'll get my revenge." I stuck my tongue out at him as I opened the door, eager to escape from the idiot.
"Shariq two, Uméma zero!" He shouted.
"Ya-ya whatever." I spoked dismissively as I descended down the stairs when I bump into someone. Ew. Mantasha.
"How come you're alive?" She questioned.
"Cause my husband saved me." I replied back smugly.
"Mantasha, I never thought you'd stoop so low," Shariq's voice rang out from behind me. "How could you gamble with my wife's and my sister's lives like that?"
"Shariq, I didn'-" Mantasha started but he cut her off.
"Shut. Up." Shariq's jaw clenched, I'm genuinely afraid his teeth might crumble into powder any second. "Not a single word from you." He snapped at her.
This guy went from goofy to angry real quick.
You reap what you sow, Mantasha. I chimed in my brain.
"I am going to tell every single thing you did to everyone!" Shariq sneered as he jogged down.
"Shariq!" Mantasha uttered desperately.
"I am sorry, please forgive me!" She started crying. Oops, sorry- fake crying.
"I am really really sorry. I shouldn't have done all that. The jealousy had blinded me. This time, just this time forgive me." She begged joining her hands in front of him.
"Shariq." I intervened as he turned back to look at me. "Forgive her."
"Mantasha, don't apologise to me, apologise to her and Insharah to whom you had put through all the mayhem." Shariq pointed at me. Mantasha stared at me for a good one minute and walked towards me.
"I-I am sorry." She spitted the words out from her mouth. It was clearly visible that she didn't want to apologise.
"I shouldn't forgive you for risking my life, but being the good person that I am—fine, it's okay." I rolled my eyes.
"Okay." She whispered and scattered away from her.
"Don't forget to apologise to Insharah." Shariq walked towards me, "You have a big heart, eh?"
"Huh, puh-lease. I know she's planning something big against me. I thought about exposing her sinister reality but decided against it—I want her to be caught red-handed."
