(SS: Zim is less of a dumass in this, he's starting to repair things :D )
Zim shifted anxiously from foot to foot, Lynn watched him with a great interest in her tired eyes. Lottie ushered them all into the house, getting annoyed with the tense atmosphere.
"Okay, im going to have a smoke outside, and when I come back I expect you two will stop... whatever it is going on?"
Zim scrunched his face in disgust but nodded anyway, there were many human things he could grow used to, but the horrid smell from the cancer stick was not one of them.
Lottie slammed the door quite hard, some trinkets placed on the higher shelves rattled, but showed no signs of toppling to the ground.
"Zim.."
He flinched, just the sound of her voice was getting harder to not melt into, it always seemed to keep a calm rythm. He did everything to not lool Lynn in the eyes, nothing had happened yet and he was sure he was getting in trouble.
"About the dream..."
Oh, so thats what this was about. Zim let out a anxiety filled breath, he knew how to recollect himself now.
"How did you get in there? And why can't I go back??"
Lynn sounded frantic, scared even. Zim felt his heart twist more ways than one, of course it had been his doing to get into her dreams, he built a machine that would let him. It broke shortly after he usedi t since she had woken up before he could properly shut it down. Now the dream was shattered beyond repair.
"I'm going to be completly honest.." Zim paused, half for dramatic effect, and half because he had no idea how the hell to respond to that.
"Well, first off... do you believe in soulmate?"
Lynn had the expected, "are you shitting me" look on her face, and Zim felt even more compleled to curl up in a ball and never look at her again.
"To an extent."
Zim could feel the whole world staring, judging him. Those three words were able to snap his protective mental barriers like popsicle sticks, his breath icy hot, almost like it would simply freeze the air in front of him.
"S-So, I've studied on the subject... and often soulmates can interact with each others dreams."
Zim closed his eyes and held a sharp breah, waiting for her to hit him...
She didn't?
Instead, an expectant stare met Zim's. She sighed, putting both hands over her eyes to rub away the sleep. Lynn was just so tired.
"I know your hiding something from me.."
Zim emidietly tensed, the empty spot on his back where a metal clump had sat yeas ago flared up in pain. Lynn cocked a brow when his face suddenly constricted as if she had knee'd him in the crotch.
"Okay okay! I have... just a little bit."
The pain reduced, he sighed in relief. Lynn cleared her throat to catch his attention once more.
"I.. could we go somewhere more.... private?"
Lynn's stance immediately went ridged, she reached over the couch to grab something? When pulled just higher, Zim could see it was a baseball bat. Why was that just on the couch?
The wooden end of it came flying a little to close for comfort, Lynn jabbed it into his stomach, one wrong move and I'll bash in your head. He could picture her saying it with ease.
