Let's slow down... or not

"No."

Zim swallowed thickly, her eyes shot to him quick and pierced through the thick 'tough' act, though it wouldn't take that much to break him anyway.

"Excuse me?"

"I said n...no."

He wasn't nearly as confident anymore, Lynn glared hard, though she made no movements. Zim trued to focus on the small dust particles in the air rather than her eyes, but the sun glimmered just perfectly on them to draw his attention back every time he looked away.

"I-I need this, it doesn't have to be marking just yet, but please, give me something!"

"What do you even see in me?! What was this 'SouLmAtE' bullshit you were asking about?!"

Zim froze, he could feel his tongue quite heavily as it refused to move. Lynn glarred hard, not making it any easier to coax his mouth into moving.

Finally he sighed, shuffling into a more comfortable spot on the couch, which just so happened to be out of Lynn's reach.

"Every living thing has a soul in a sense, all creatures, whether they come from earth or not. Some species are better at detecting what type someone holds, though it is very hard to learn to read them. Take the Dib for example, his is like an evergrowing fire, always determined to achieve his goals, but the reward is often empty, and the fire runs out of things to burn. The other scary human you live with is a nearly wilted earth rose, just barely hanging on, but thorns sharper than ever keeps them from falling."

Zim sighed, his eyes filled with a glossy want as he stared into Lynn's. She could feel her face heat up slightly, but not enough to give through the strong emotional barricade.

"When I look into your soul, I see nothing. No hope, determination, faith, it's just empty. Void, if you will. Nothing like I've ever seen before, and that is what interests me so."

Lynn's eyes began to ache, she blinked, having been too focused on what Zim had to say to realise her own self.

Zim's hand reached out slowly, as if he was showing he ment no harm. He placed the three fingers just below Lynn's neck, his touch left a painless burning, the feeling was greatly welcomed by the inner voice.

"It stays here. I can't see it in a phisical sense, but I know it's there I can feel it, your emotions and internal self. All your personality and memories."

He shifted forwards without removing the hand, as he inched forwards Lynn's heart sped it's pace brutally, but also in a comforting way.

For a moment she felt as though she could see into Zim's soul too, but the feeling was gone in an instant.

=====

Lynn didn't remember how it'd happened, or how long she'd been sitting there with him, but all she knew was the fire against her collar was gone, and replaced along the rest of her body as Zim kept her embraced in a loose hug.

He sighed, the hot breath tickled her neck and made her entire body shiver. The voice had full control at this point, it sent her praises for giving in, for letting it have this comfort and to be released after being trapped for so long. Zim's teeth gently nibbled on her skin, though not enough to break the fragile cells. He knew the boundary.

The two of them had been sitting there in the company of both heartbeats for so long that the front doors creak was discarded as had other outside sounds been.

They still stayed in each others arms as the sound of footsteps came towards the living room. The only thing that mattered to them was the other.

Finally the time to seperate had been spent, a familiar human stood in the archway, shocked face and baseball bat in hand. They finally broke the silence.

"What the fuck?!"
