Not too long after the Thorntons were able to bring Elizabeth home, her mental state began to progress.
Henry walked into the room to see Elizabeth-Lillian sitting in her bay window and staring outside. She looked rapidly at the ranch and the barn on it.

"Hey." He said startling her, he walked up to her and stretched out his hand, "take a walk with me?"

Outside... "Hey Flower, I have a job for you, this is Chyanne and I was wondering if you could take him around the pin so she can learn to back off a bit." She nodded and took the reins.

They all watched as Elizabeth worked with the horse, "when does she stop doing that?" Asked Henry.
"When Chyanne realizes who's boss." Responded Jack
"What do you do if he doesn't?"
"Then you keep running her around the pin." He said looking at Henry. "Come on, we have some work to do," Jack said, grabbing his coat and sticking his cowboy hat on his head.
"What about breakfast!?"
Jack laughed, "you want breakfast in bed? Sleep in the kitchen!"

Later that day... Henry finished loading some hay into the truck, "okay, I'm done!" He called after Jack.
Jack walked over, "the funny thing about ranch work, you're never done." He said handing him a shovel.
"Well, are we at least gonna eat breakfast tomorrow?"
Jack just started laughing.

The next day... "Hey, Elizabeth!" Jack called up the stairs.
"Yeah, Dad?" She said sliding down them.
"I wanna show you some pictures."
He showed her the album, after a few minutes of showing her pictures she began to grow even more frustrated because she couldn't remember.
"Enough I don't wanna look at any more pictures." She said closing the album.
"Flower I know how frustrating this must be for you."
"Easy for you to say you know who you are! I'm gonna go."
"Okay," Jack stated disappointed. Then Elizabeth Lillian leaned forward a bit and stretched out her arms. "What are you doing?"
"Waiting for my hug, I thought that's what people do in this house when they leave a room."
Jack smiled, "it sure is." He said going along with it and hugging his daughter.
Later that night when Elizabeth slept, she had a bunch of dreams, or better yet clips of her life washed over her and she could hear voices from different moments as well.

The dream finally ended with everything going dark and hearing her voice.
