"Endeavor!" Spinner gasps as the villains' covered army truck screeches around a hairpin turn of the winding mountain road. The flaming hero standing in the middle of the road against the dark sky illuminated the group of heroes and a parked car the villains were about to crash into.
The sound of the screeching brakes is overridden by Endeavor and Dabi's orange and blue flames rising into the air like a twister between the two vehicles.
Hawks swerves to avoid the rising flames, then hovers within helping distance of the heroes. Dabi's gravelly voice echoes through the chaos.
"Isn't it bed time for you, old man?!" Dabi bellows, stretching his arms towards Endeavor in preparation to deliver another blast. "Or are you staying up late to watch your black sheep son to teach you how to fight?" Dabi shouts as flames roll to life over is arms.
Hawks shutters at the feeling of the heat from Dabi's flames, briefly remembering Rogue saving him in Japan.
"Prominence Burn!" Endeavor shouts back, unleashing his last resort move.
The force of the flames clashing together sends the villains' truck skidding over the edge of the cliff as the villains disappear into thing air.
Hawks swoops through the air until there is no longer a sign of the villains.
"Time to find out what the league was transporting." Hawks says, diving swiftly after the truck.
Crouching, Hawks begins removing debris from within the villains' abandoned truck. and expecting the truck and the cargo it had been carrying. Brown goo creeps from the truck creating a pool and staining the seats.
"What are you doing , Hawks? If you were here you could've given us a hand." Endeavor says walking up to Hawks from behind.
Standing up, Hawks rubs the back of his head. "Awe, don't bite my head off Endeavor. I just now flew in." Hawks smiles back to him.
Endeavor sighs and walks up to him. "Stop being a smart ass. Learn anything from this? Where's the League?"
"Not here, unfortunately. Seems they were doubles, courtesy of Twice."
"What were they carrying?"
Hawks shrugs, "Looks like a life support transportation device. High tech. Ya don't see many of those out and about."
"So they were transporting something or someone in here."
"Apparently." Hawks folds his arms behind his head. "How about we grab some grub and talk theories. I'm starving."
Endeavor's eyes narrow at Hawks. "Get your head in the game. You've been distracted since getting back from the states. I can't have my partner slacking off because of girl troubles."
"Awe, I'm focused. And I'm not having girl troubles." Hawks' wings ruffle behind him.
"Hawks..."
"I promise, I'm focused. So where are we eating?"
"We're on the clock."
"Sooo, a quick pit stop hasn't hurt anyone. Come on, man, I'm starving. Pleaseeee."
"Fine." Endeavor sighs, giving into the pleading look from the winged hero. "But I'm picking this time."
"Mhm.. cool with me." Hawks grins as he goes to follow after Endeavor leaving the crash site behind them.

As the XJet flies through the clear mid morning blue sky as it approaches Nabu Island with Jean, Rogue, Kitty, and Kurt on board.
Jean scans the sky for his red wings. Her heart races, unsure if it is in anticipation of seeing Hawks or the concern he's forgotten about her and the others.
"Listen, Red, if anyone can connect to him, it's you."
Jean looks up at Logan, then peers back out the window.

Jean and the others walk into the hero HQ on the island, which is filled with students from 1-A scurrying to dispatch the influx of incoming calls. Denki, a blonde haired teen, runs out the door right as they enter.
"Wish we came here to chill. Are they always this busy?" Kurt says.
"Come on, this will be fun." Kitty replies. "Deku!" She calls to her friend and runs to greet him.
Jean sighs as she scans the building. No signed of Tokoyami or Hawks. Rouge places her hand on Jean's arm.
"We both know he's not goin' to be here. I bet he and his shadow are either workin' or eatin' right now." Rouge walks past her.
"Hey, there's a missing kid at the mall. Who wants to help me?" Ochoko asks.
"I will!" Deku volunteers.
"Count me in, too!" Kitty jumps in.
"I'll help as well." Jirou stands up. Ochoko smiles and the group hurries out the door, leaving the others to settle in.

Picking his teeth with with a wooden skewer, he stares at the drafted text message he just typed before deleting it with a swift type of his fingers. She wont answer. You're wasting your time. Hawks sighs and looks down at the city below him his wings dropping.*****
As the sun sets, Jean sighs as the first sound of crickets fills the sky. The bustle of helping the islanders all day almost distracted Jean's debilitating desire to see Keigo. She stares into the vast starry sky. "Keigo, hope you haven't forgotten us or me." She whispers. When she opens her eyes again, Jean notices a black bird shape down the sidewalk from where she was standing."What are you doing out here so late, Tokoyami? Everyone else is asleep." Jean asks, walking up to him.
"Dark Shadow and I are practicing some training drills Hawks assigned us."
"How is he?"
Tokoyami looks back at Jean with a blank stare.
"I just- last time I saw him- he just doesn't understand- "
"Perhaps you should talk to him and not try to get to Hawks through me." Tokoyami responds as he and dark shadow begin walking away.
"Tokoyami, please wait! I wasn't trying to-"
"Yes, you were. Otherwise you would have asked about me, not him, in a conversation with me."
Jean stares as Tokoyami and dark shadow disappear walk away into the night.
"I know you have questioned Hawks' motives in the past, too." She shouts into the darkness.
Tokoyami turns around. "What did you say?"
"I-"
"How would you know anything about my relationship with Hawks?"
"Because I can-"
"Spy on people through their memories and use it against them?"
"No, use it to protect them. You guys are in danger, and I need to understand some things to help you. Why do you think Hawks chose you to be his intern?"
