As the glow of the morning sun enters his bedroom, Hawks groans, reaching out his arm to pull Jean closer, hoping for a day filled with burring his head into the back of her neck. As his hand falls to the cold mattress, his torso shoots upright in fear Jean is gone. He quickly calms as he hears Jean gently humming in the kitchen as the aromas of I-can't-wait-to-taste-that breakfast cooking. Entering the kitchen, Jean is standing over the stove wearing his pale gray shirt. This might be the best day ever. He nuzzles his face into the nape of Jean's neck and wraps his arms around her waist.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Jean coos glancing back at the disheveled Hawks. He kisses the new home of a hickey he left last night as his wings sway delightedly.

Coos rumble from deep within Hawks' chest when Jean begins rubbing him.

"Whatcha making?" He asks, his eyes fixed on the stove.

"I was hoping to surprise you with breakfast in bed, but it's an omelet with rice and bacon-style chicken."

She wacks his hand back lightly. "And wait, Kei. It's not done yet."

"Fiiiine." He lets go of Jean to grab coffee as she finishes making breakfast.

With the last of the dishes are put away from breakfast, Jean kisses his cheek and places her hand on his scarred back. "Let's get dressed, baby, so we can capitalize on our last day together before you have to go to work. I can't believe the trip is almost over already."

"How about I call in today?" Hawks suggests. "I mean, it's my last day with my girl, and I'm in heat. If I don't stay home and - "

Hawks' phone interrupts their provocative gaze. "Gah, the stupid commission is out to ruin my life." He halfway jokes as he answers the phone.

"I understand. Buh-bye." He says as he hangs up the phone.

"I'm so sorry, babe. There's something on the other side of Japan that I need to go to. But- can we at least fly together there? I want to show you the beauty of Japan in spring. The view, especially from the sky, is unlike anything else I've seen."

*****
They can smell the cherry blossoms from Hawks' penthouse as he opens the window for their departure. Hawks becomes paralyzed by the sun shining into Jean's emerald eyes when he glances back at her before flying off. "Just one quick- we can fly fast, right?" He says
embracing Jean one last time.

"Yes, I think we still have a couple minutes we can spare. We have motivation to fly fast if it means squeezing out just a little more time alone with you." Jean smiles, pulling Hawks in closer.

Minutes later, they scramble to gather their clothes off the floor and jet into the sky. Despite the quick departure, they could still hear the trail of screaming fans for the number 2 pro hero.

"His girlfriend-!" The last voice bellows as Hawks and Jean disappear into the clouds, hand in hand.

*****
As they approach the place Jean and Hawks need to split off, they pause in the air for a final embrace, both panting from their rapid pace on the flight.

"Where are you headed, Chickadee?"

"I'm going to stop over at UA to see the others until you're finished."

"Wait, you're going to wait for me?! That's the best news ever! I thought you were leaving now."

"I will be at UA waiting for you when you're done. I want to see you again before I leave."

Hawks' failed attempt to mask his smile makes Jean laugh as they have one final embrace before Hawks shoots off to try to make it to Tokyo in record time.

Flying fast is easy when you're weightlessly in love. Hawks says to himself before realizing what he was saying.

When she arrives in Shizuoka Prefecture, Jean stops in town to pick up a frame for the photo of her and Hawks from the hero gathering they attended. She hopes the picture would help make it feel like they were a little closer while apart. Blinded by the excitement of surprising Hawks, Jean does not notice the black car slowly creeping behind her.

From across the street, Deku and Shoto are shopping for a long list of wants from their UA comrades.

"Hey, there's Jean!" Deku exclaims. "Let's hurry up this shopping trip so we can go say hi. I thought she would have been heading home by now. She must be waiting for Hawks to finish work."

"You can go say hi for us. I'll finish here and meet you over there so you don't miss her."

Deku turns his head to say goodbye to Shoto, before he dashes across the street, he rescan the area to find Jean again. He catches a glimpse of Jean just as as two men in suits that were walking behind her start approaching. A person in front of him blocks Deku's view briefly. When he finally sees Jean again, she is getting into the backseat of a black car, but something seems... off. Deku yells her name right as the car peals out, he notices a cloth drop from the window, as he makes it to the corner. Reaching down he picks up the pale gray cloth as Shoto jogs over.

"where's Jean?" He asks

"I saw her with two men but now she's gone and this was left here." Deku hands it to Shoto. Worry crosses Shoto's face.

"We have to get to my dad and get hawks now." Shoto says with urgency. "This has chloroform on it."

Hawks is perched on the open widow sill with his wings folded neatly behind him, chatting with Endeavor.

"Is there anything else you want to talk about?" Endeavor asks, seeing the look he had like he was considering something.

"Oh, yeah, uhm sorry. Are we alone here?" He asks, jumping into the room to face Endeavoer. Hawks glance at the door and back to him as the older hero nods.

"We are. Now spit it out, boy, before you stress yourself out anymore."

Hawks takes a deep breath and looks up to him before he bows. "I-I want thank you."

"Thank me? What-"

Hawks looks back to him. "Yes, for what you did for me over 19 years ago. When you arrested my dad.. Takami the Thief.."

Endeavoreyes widen as he hears what hawks is saying. He hasn't thought about that case in years, hearing this learning that man had family. "Hawks- I... don't don't know what to say. I'm so sorry about your parents, and... well... I know somewhere you love them, and I can only imagine your life trajectory was far from being the number 2 hero. I guess— what I'm trying to say is that I have airways been proud of you, but I have never been more proud."

Hawks stares as he opens and close his mouth shock by what he had just to him. He was worried, scared even that he might toss him aside maybe be upset about this. But this, he didn't think he'd ever hear him say that or anyone really. Light flutter from his wings. He looks back at Endeavor lovingly.

Hawks opens his mouth to speak, "I-I uh.. thanks man. Knew you had a soft spot for me." He grins, before growing serious in way. "There's one thing it's about your elder son and Dab-"

"What you-?" Before Endeavor to fully comprehend where this could be going the door open up behind them.

"I'm sorry Endeavor, but they insisted it was an emergency." Burning says. As all eyes were now fixed on Deku and Shoto standing there both boys panting and wide eyed.

"What's meaning of this Shoto? You're not scheduled to be here. Either of you two today." Endeavor says.

"I understand but, it's about Jean." Shoto says.

"What about her?" Hawks jumps in not like if the panic he was picking from the two of them.

Deku starts to explain what he saw, describing in detail black car with tinted window, and two men in suits. Hawks' eyes widen as his wings drop, he could detach his feathers into a heap too. Quickly the shock replaced with narrow eyes and bristle of his feathers.

"She's been what?!"
