It was our day off and as usual Corey and I headed to central park with Theo. We always loved taking him there and it was a special spot for us as he'd asked me to be his girlfriend and we shared our first kiss there. We always went to the same location and let Theo's expandable leash out longer so he could run around a bit. I cuddled up with Corey as we sat on a picnic blanket eating lunch. "I'm glad the weather is nice enough for an actual picnic. We've not been able to have one yet this year." I said before taking another bite of my sandwich.
"Yeah. Weather is amazing." Theo jumped into his lap and Corey picked him up in his hands.
"This is too cute not to take a photo of." I grabbed my phone out my pocket and took a photo of Corey and Theo. Theo had his tongue out and Corey was just Corey, perfect in every way. I put my phone down and poured some water into Theo's bowl and he jumped out of Corey's arms and began to drink it. "Someone's thirsty." I said softly as I went and sat back next to Corey.
"Yeah. He's been an active boy running around all morning. Usually on our run I have to stop to let him catch up, or tug him along as he just wants to walk but today he was pulling me along." I chuckled.
"I guess you got a good run then today. My handsome man."
"Yeah. Which is why I got you to bring me a clean shirt and deodorant, because I was sweaty and didn't want to have my day off date with you while I was smelling gross."
"I give you a hug and kiss every night after you get off stage. I think I can cope with a bit of sweat from a run babe. Because I've kissed you when you've smelt a lot worse." I said truthfully. Corey just laughed and kissed me softly. I kissed back and then laid down, my head in his lap. He ran his fingers though my hair and smiled down at me.
"You are so gorgeous." He said softly. "I would gaze into your eyes all day if I could." I smiled at him.
"I'd do the same. My handsome cowboy." I looked over to Theo when I saw two people I recognised in the distance. "Cor. Is that Ben? And is he with Elouise?" I said softly.
"I think it might be." He grabbed his phone and called him, putting it on speaker. I saw Ben stop walking and take his phone out.
"Hey Corey. What's up?"
"Not much. Just having a lovely date with my girl. Oh and watching you and Elouise walking though Central Park."
"Oh. You're here?"
"It's Monday. We're always here on a Monday for our day off. Admittedly usually just on a walk but the weather was nice enough for a picnic. Care to come join us. We're by the large oak tree." I saw him look over at I waved.
"Alright, we will come say hi." He hung up and the pair walked over to us, nervous looks on their faces. I went to get up but Corey held me down.
"I like it when you lie down, your head in my lap." I chuckled and stayed where I was. "I like running my fingers though your hair and smiling at you."
"Okay then." I said softly as the other two sat down. "How are you doing Elouise? How's college?"
"It's not going to badly. Prep work has begun already for sophomore showcase so that's a little stressful."
"I remember those days. You know Ben was at NYU too." I said glancing between the two of them. "He was in the year above me. He was, and still is my best friend."
"Yeah. He told me the other day." She said smiling at him and taking his hand. It was clear that she was more keen on being public about the 'relationship' where as Ben tried to keep it more subtle and not give it away.
