35 - Broadway Barks

I woke up and saw Corey was still asleep beside me which was unusual. He was the early bird of the two of us. I laid in bed and looked at his peaceful face. I gave a little smile and then shuffled closer to him. We usually fell asleep holding one another but we both moved a lot in the night so usually we woke up further apart. I rested my head next to his and kissed his nose. I carefully put my arm over him, resting on his back trying to not wake him up. I felt his arm wrap around me and I thought I'd woken him but it must have just been his subconscious. I laid there with him for another 20 minutes or so before his eyes fluttered opened. "Morning Cor." I said kissing him softly. He kissed me back for a moment and then pulled away.

"Morning Angel." I smiled and cuddled up to him more, resting my head on his chest as we sat up a little. "How are you?"

"I'm good. Felt odd waking up and seeing you still asleep beside me. But it was nice. You looked so peaceful and adorable." I said softly.

"That's how I feel most mornings watching you sleeping. Before I head downstairs to sort Theo out. You are so beautiful when you sleep. And even more beautiful when awake." I chuckled softly.

"Speaking of Theo. I need to go sort him out. I'll make breakfast and see you down there." I said softly. "I love you cowboy." I kissed him again and got out of bed, quickly getting dressed for the day and going downstairs to let Theo out onto the balcony of our apartment. It wasn't the garden he deserved but at the moment Corey and I wanted to be in the city so couldn't afford anywhere with much outdoor space. We knew as soon as we went to start a family we'd move out of manhattan and get somewhere with a garden. "Morning little one." I said as I opened the door. The balcony was fully dog proof so he couldn't escape. I then made Corey and I breakfast and put Theo's food and water out. He came back inside and I cleaned up his poo from the faux grass and tossed it out. I then went back in and saw Corey. I smiled at him and he came over to kiss my cheek.

"You excited to cuddle even more puppies today? It's broadway barks don't forget."

"I didn't. And I'm very excited." I said back. "Breakfast is ready my love."

"Thanks." He sat down and I joined him and we ate breakfast. Once that was done we both gave Theo cuddles before heading down to midtown for Broadway barks.

Corey and I were both shown our dogs that we'd be 'in charge of' during the event. I had this beautiful black and white dog called frankie and Corey was passed this adorable puppy who sat happily in one arm of his. I looked into Corey's deep brown eyes and smiled. "I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too. Now let's go help these two get adopted, and for the record, if we didn't already have Theo, I'd totally be taking this little one home. She doesn't have a name yet, but she's the cutest little thing."

"She is adorable. It's hard to choose who's cuter. You or her." I smirked at him.

"Of the three of us, you're the cutest." I tried not to blush but I failed. Corey laughed and pecked my lips. We were both given cards of what we had to say about the dogs and were sent onstage with a few other actors from broadway. I went first and had one of the helpers hold the microphone for me because Frankie was a little too big for my arms. Once I was done Corey went and I just gazed at him lovingly the whole time. Once we were done we got to wonder around and meet some of the other dogs. Corey was in absolute heaven as he was such a dog lover. The event finished and we decided we'd take the opportunity to take a romantic walk home together rather than get the subway. We held hands and talked about random topics. That what usually happened anyway when we were together. "You were great today Katie."

"As we're you. I hope they both got adopted. They were so adorable. Even if Frankie was a little too big for me to hold for that long. My arms kinda hurt now."

"How about a relaxing massage when we get home?"

"Sounds wonderful." I said looking up at him. "I'll do some housework while you take Theo for a walk as he hasn't been out all day. And then after that we can spend the evening relaxing. Giving each other a massage and then cuddling with our own little fluffball on the couch."

"Sounds perfect." He kissed my cheek and put his arm around my shoulders as I put mine round his waist as we continued our walk. Once home we did as planned and I prepped dinner and did the laundry while he took Theo out for a walk. Once he was home dinner was in the oven and I was posting a few photos from the day to Instagram.

*Had an AWESOME day at Broadway Barks playing with and helping these adorable dogs get adopted. Corey was given this tiny puppy and I honestly struggled to pick who was cuter. Meanwhile I had this perfect black and white dog, named Frankie, who was probably too big for me to hold for that long but I survived. It was a wonderful experience but I'm glad to be home and cuddled on the couch with Corey our own puppy Theo.*

Corey and Theo came straight to me and I snuggled up to Corey, my legs going over his as Theo laid on my lap. "I love you Cor. You're the best."

"I love you too Katie." He leant into me and I put my hands on either side of his neck and closed the gap between our lips. He put one arm around me and the other, caressing my cheek. I smiled against his lips as we shared soft sweet kisses. Once we stopped kissing we just held each other close. I rested my head on his chest and Corey ran his fingers though my hair which always soothed me. I smiled as we cuddled together. Corey put the TV on and we watched that while we cuddled. Once the oven timer went off I reluctantly stood up, giving Theo to Corey and finished off dinner. We sat and ate and then headed up to our bedroom. As promised the evening was spent giving each other relaxing massages as well as a lot of kisses.
