9 ~ The past

Harry's POV
I'm woken by the doorbell but I ignore it falling back into Carter's arms snuggling my face into her neck  , she mumbles something but I can't make it out . I kiss her jawline then go to her ear lightly nibbling at it . " Harry " she wines removing her face from me ," baby I'm doing my best work here and you're here talking " I sigh all she replies with is " go get the door " go get the door really ! Annoyed I go to the fuckung door , I really hate this damn door I wish we didn't even have one so no one could come in or out !
Fuck the door !  Eager to get this over with so I can return to my girlfriend I huff then open the door .

"James " is all I say not expecting to see him " what no hug for your best friend of 70 years ?" He aks as if I should be expecting him .

James and I met during a ... wild time in my life , my mother could not stand him , James is only 90 years old he was turned at 20 I knew him even before he was turned .

"What are you doing here dickhead "
Me and James aren't on bad terms we just fell off speaking terms when I left England , I wonder if he's still as wild as we were back in the day .

" nice to see you too , see you got more tats since I've last seen you " he says with his cheeky grin " I could say the same for you " pointing to his arm which has a large tiger across it .

"What brings you here ? Something tells me it isn't just to see me ? "
James smiles which makes me think I'm right . " he's back "  he says looking almost nervous to tell me .
"I thought that problem was taken care of by you ! " I say angrily, I'm not yelling i don't want Carter to hear .

James gives me a look " can I come in ? Let's talk about this " I shake my head I can't believe he didn't kill him
" no you can't come in I don't want Carter to hear you ." I say stern , there's no point in me hiding Carter from him he'd find out eventually and mock me for falling in love " Carter ? "
He asks intrigued " girlfriend " I say simply

" no fucking way!" I cut his sentence off " done we have bigger problems to discuss?!" James rolls his eyes " yes yes okay if not today soon we need to figure something out " i step outside closing the door softly before coming closer to him " and when we do talk I hope you know I'm gonna kill you for not killing him " James nods his head as if he was expecting me to say that
" well until then have fun with your girlfriend ✨ " he says in a stupid voice

I go back inside thankfully Carter is still in our room , coming into the room I see her sprawled all over the bed , she's not asleep I can tell when she's asleep . " who was it ? " she asks
Taking my hand to pull me to her , I move her legs so I can have room then dip down onto the bed pulling at her waist to turn her over so she's not facing me I put my chin on her shoulder wanting to feel her warmth , wanting my anxiety to go away .

"Just the mail man he gave us the neighbors mail the idiot " she only replies with a hmm before putting her hands on mine and drifting back to sleep .

I want to tell Carter and I will but I don't have enough information yet , I need answers, I need to talk to James which I guess I'll do tomorrow when Carter goes to work .

There's things in my past I thought would stay there but I guess it's time to re open those chapters I wish I could rip the pages of .

They stopped filming because someone got covid but i'm hoping everything will be okay and they can start filming again
