The Kiss

Adams POV

Takashi and I have been talking a lot more since the kiss, but we haven't really talked about. I know he's worried it was a spur of the moment kinda thing but it wasn't, I think. My feelings for him are a bit complicated. So now I'm sitting im my lab analyising the teams DNA samples from when the first came back to earth and now.

"That's strange." I was look over the data and it seems their cells aren't replicating their just killing any foreign bacteria, I seems that it's being caused by alien matter.

I didn't get any more time to look over anything, because the paladins walked in looking more skeptical than usual. "I can help you?" I comes off as more a question than an offer. "What's the deal with you and Shiro?" Wow direct, I don't think Takashi knows they're skippng class to interogate me. "Why?" I doubt dodging the question is going to make them go away, they look determined.

"Stop doging the question. You two keep making heart eyes at each other and there's footage from the hallway the kitchen of the two you kissing. So spill." Pidge stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I wasn't awear of any cameras on the ship but then again it is a high tech alien ship, so it wasn't much of a surprise.

"There's nothing going on between Takashi and I." I say while standing up to check if the analysis was correct. Keith tries and fails to choke back a laugh "Good three years of my childhood begs to differ." He states between laughs. "See we even have Keiths fucked up childhood as evidence, that you and Shiro are a thing."

"Yeah, well a lots happened in the last seven years." I haven't actually thought about it like that but a ot has happened in the past seven years. Takashi became the legal guardian of his distant cousin, he and I broke up after six amazing  years, he got abducted by aliens, he joined a universe saving alien team(?).

"And your the only one the only one that calls he him Takashi." Hunk chimes in well its true he hates the name, he says it makes him sound like an anime character and well he already has the look so why not. "Thats a battle your not gonna win Hunk, trust me I've tried." Did Keith Kogane just defend me. The same Keith Kogane that threated me as a child. Wow. 

"Can you guys go I have work to do." Once they left I started analyising the substance from their DNA. I managed to extract whatever the substance was. 

It seemed to made up of dimethylsulfoxide, glycerol, phosphorus, nitrogen, helium, hydrogen and argon. Some of these chemicals are used in cryopreservation and cryogenics, but I dont think they would stop replication of cells.

I worked on this the who day it didn't feel like any time passed. But it seems a lot passed because the only time I checked the time when Takashi walked in food. 22:57. I've been working since 10 in the morning, I worked almost twelve hours straight! 

"I doubt you've eaten the whole day by the look on your face." Takashi said as he set the food down on my work station.

"What has you working all day that you haven't eaten at all?" Takashi asked as I ate my nineth spring roll. "Well, I was analyising your guys DNA samples and I found foreign matter thats seems to be stoping the repliaction of cells but it kills any foreign bacteria. And the chemicals that make up the matter are commonly used in cryopreservation and cryogenics." I explain.

"Mind if I take a look?" Why didn't I think to ask him, sometimes I forget that as much of a idoit he is, he does have a degree in Nuclear Physics, Chemistry and Engineering. "Knock yourself out." 

"Well the chemical composition is that of cryogenics." He says as I come up behind him, "I know that much."

We worked on trying to figure out what the substance was the whole night until Takashi said "I think I know what is." I gave him a questioning look asking him to continue. "Its the healing and freezing material from the healing pods. Which explains why its killing foreign bacteria." Healing pod. Explains why they all aren't dead.

"That makes much more sense than what I had in mind." He looked at me with a questioning look. "What do you have in mind?" He seemed less intrigued and more conserned.

"Alien probes." He tried to stifel a laugh but it definetly wasn't working. "Well I'm sleep deprived what do you expect."

"Then you should get some sleep. I'll see you tommorow." And With that he left.

Now all I could think about was the kiss. If i didn't kiss him I could possibly ignore my feelings for him, but no I just had to. 

If he hadn't left I wouldn't feel so conflicted. Even if we were broken up but he did and it hurt like shit. And now hes back but for how long nothing right now is permenent. (Except Klance)

Why is Love so fucking hard. 

This seems like a tommorow problem.
