Filler chapter ahead

For weeks after Matt was chosen by the blue lion the team threw them selves into training him and figuring out how the Galra had found them.

The silence within the team and from Allura had caused the team to loose focus on many occasions; they were all thankful that it was only training and not a mission.

The team was currently on the training deck for a briefing of what had happened while they were on Earth from Kolivan.

Everyone was way more focused on the briefing than they had been on their team mates in weeks. Anyone who were to step foot in the room could sense the tension between everyone.

Once Kolivan had finished the briefing he pulled Shiro and Keith aside. "Your team doesn't seem stable."
"We know Kolivan. It's just everything that happened with Matt and Allura has confused and stressed us out." Keith countered.

"But it's your job as the leader and the captain," He gave Shiro and Keith pointed looks as he said this "To keep your team together. To make sure that you and your team are able to work to the best of their abilities. Your team is The Defender of the Universe. If you go down so does everybody else." After his speech Kolivan had left Shiro and Keith standing in the silence of the mostly empty hallway.

For the first time since they had formed Voltron Shiro was at a lose on how to get the team together. He had no way for them to bond; no way for them to be more than a team; no way for them to be a family again.

"So what do we do know?" Keith was known standing in front of Shiro looking at him as if he held the key to their current dilemma. "I have no idea."

The pair soon spent hours trying to come up with solutions and ideas for team bonding after hours of brain storming and coming up with nothing. After a while they decided to give up and try again in the morning.

As Takashi was walking back to his room he passed the control room to see that Adam was still in there, like he had been for the past weeks.

"You're still up?" Shiro asked leaning against the wall opposite of where Adam was working.

"Yep, I'm studying how the control system works."
"Your over working yourself."

Adam turned around and gave Shiro a look that said 'and you aren't' and immediately went back to work.

"You are going to sleep." Shiro dragged Adam down out of the control room and down the hallway before he could protest.

"Takashi!" Adam Groaned as he was pulled towards the room he shared with Shiro.

"I'm not tired."

"But you need sleep.

You've been working so hard for the past few months that you've barely taken time for yourself."

After a few more minutes of protesting Adam gave in knowing Takashi wouldn't stop until till he did.

After they both showered they climbed into bed together relishing in the feeling of being in each other's with each other; basking in the others warmth and light touches.

Adam's head rested on Shiro's chest as he slowly stroked Adam caramel brown hair. Their breaths relaxed as they slowly fell asleep, just as Adam was about to fall asleep he heard Shiro quietly mumble, "Watashi wa Anaya o aishitamiasu." (I love you)

A sleepy smile graced Adam's face as he whispered back, "Ti amo anch'io." Before he let the darkness take him over. (I love you too)

Shiro woke up to the sound of Lance and Keith, presumably, arguing. Checking the time he realised it was way too early for either of them to be awake. Slowly slipping out of bed, making sure not to wake Adam, he got dressed and went to see what the commotion was about.

"What's going on with those two?" Shiro had stepped into lounge to see Lance standing a good distance away from Keith who had a sadistic smirk across his face.

"Lance 'accidentally' replaced the sugar in Keith's coffee with salt and Keith hellbent on trying to kill him," Pidge answered putting air quotes around 'accidentally'

Shiro left them seeing that no one was in any mortal danger going to control room to work on a team bonding idea he had.

The team already had a bond so why not strength it.

To do so Shiro had designed an obstacle course/training system. This would have teams of two working together to get out. Each team would be given a part of the map the needed to escape. Each team would have thirty five minutes to escape; with every minute that passes by the walls closed in on them. The fun part... There. Are. No. Rules.

Just as Takashi finished his program Adam walked still looking tired and not ready for whatever today had in store for him. "Good morning," Shiro said.

"It is morning but it is not good." He took a seat next to Shiro, facing the opposite direction so he was leaning against the control panel.

"So... I came up with a ridiculous team building exercise that I may or may not need your help to execute." Adam skeptically looked at Shiro before asking, "What is it?"

Shiro transfered the design and program he had been working on to the holo-projector so everything was showing infront of them.

"You can't be serious." Adam was concerned that everyone would try and kill each other while doing the so called 'team bonding exercise.' Shiro just replied with a smile before walking out to find Coran.

'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'••'
With some of the tech from Pidge's lab Takashi, Coran and Adam had managed to successfully create a team building obstacle course; with many set backs of course.

Shiro was currently explaining to everyone how the course works.

"So what you're saying is there are no rules?" Lance asked.

"Yes, do what you must to get out. Oh and the teams will be choosen by an algorithm." Shiro stepped off the training grid and walked over to where Coran and Adam were standing before realising everyone into the obstacle course.

"Have fun."
