Victor smiles at me but its not a pleasant smile.

It's an eerie, cold smile.

I realise Leona is next to him.

Both of them have changed. Leona's hair is longer and Victors brown hair is trimmed and he's grown a beard.

Two years ago, I would have said he looks hot.

Right now , looking at them, all I want to do is retch on Leona's Jimmy Choos.

"Hello" I reply, keeping my face as stoic as I can.

"You look good" He says pretentiously giving me a once-over.

I cross my arms over my chest defensively.

I'm dressed in a flowy crop top and shorts. What did he expect, people to wear ballgowns at the beach? Fucking doorknob

"How's the job at the cafe?"

My blood runs cold. How did he know?

I did a degree in fashion technology in college but never found a proper job for it. I wanted it but never got it, thus finding a job as a barista.

"It's good" I say

He sneers "Never knew I was dating a pighead"

"Actually, you're the one who stuck your tiny pee-pee in gutter trash so...."

Three people on the table gasp, the guys guffaw and I turn to Summer.

"What?" She shrugs

"Sweetie, does this scream 'gutter trash' to you?" Leona holds up her hand and I see possibly the biggest diamond ever.

I. See. Red.

"It screams 'I'm an attention seeker' to me but carry on" Joel quips and my jaw drops.

"Excuse me?" Leona says, flabbergasted 

"You're excused. You can go" He says and I snort.

The two leave, huffing and Leona shooting scathing glances at Victor's fans.

"Thank you" I say softly to Joel

I'm honestly surprised he can hear me through the raucous laughter of our companions but he smiles boyishly 

"Anytime"

My heart skips a beat. I know I shouldn't feel like this.

But we can't control what we feel
