The morning was going to be extremely awkward.

Adelia rolled over in her bed. She was not looking forward to getting up today.

Especially facing that manwhore.

It still hurt, so much.

She trusted him and as much as the girl would hate to admit, she was falling for him.

Begrudgingly, she got out of bed.

She made a mistake.

It was time to face the music.

"Good morning Adelia" Summer smiled at her.

Unfortunately, Richard and Joel were at the table

Both girls felt uncomfortable but for different reasons.

"Good morning Adelia" Joel got up to kiss her cheek, beaming

Adelia tried to withhold her wince, thinking about how those lips had probably been on his girlfriend too.

Emila. She's looked her up. Emilia Mernes, a singer and also Joel Pimentel's girlfriend

Seeing them together made the blonde, angry, jealous but mostly hurt.

"Hi" she said and cringed when her voice crackled. She had cried herself to sleep and that was clear in her voice.

"You okay, A?" Joel looked so concerned it broke her heart.

Then she remembered her heart was already shattered

"Yep. Peachy" She put some distance between them.

"Stop staring!" she heard Summer chiding Richard who was staring at Joel and her like it was an episode of KUWTK.

"What?" The boy shrugged, crunching his bacon "They're entertaining"

Mumbling under her breath, Summer drags him outside to the patio, her posture stiff.

I turn away from Joel.

He thinks he's done something wrong. Its all over his face.

"What did I do Adelia?"

"Nothing I don't- I'm sorry"

"Why?"

"I can't do this, Joel, I just...can't" She turned down her head

"Adelia, look at me. Why?"

"I just can't"

The Mexican scoffed "What's next, that bullshit 'its not you, its me' excuse? Why are you doing this Adelia?"

"Joel-"

"I'm nothing like Victor, I told you-"

"BECAUSE YOU'RE EXACTLY LIKE HIM" Adelia yelled, her throat clogging with anxiety.

Shit. Not a panic attack. Not now.

"What?!"

"Would you like me to tell Emilia who you've been fucking over all summer"

Joel reeled back as if she'd just slapped him.

"Adelia, listen, Emilia is just-"

"Let me guess, a girl you're leading on like you were with me?"

The blonde stepped forward.

"Fuck you. Fuck all of you boys" Her eyes were glossy with tears and Joel felt like he had been stabbed in the gut, seeing the normally badass girl turn into a fragile blossom.

She ran away before her panic attack could take control, interrupting a very lovey-dovey Maggie and Zabdiel.

Maggie ran after her friend and Zabdiel turned to look at Joel.

"You didn't tell her?"

Joel shook his head

"Fuck, man"

Joel sat down, hands in his hair.

He had to fix this.

He had to prove to her that he loved her and Emilia wasn't who Adelia thought she was
