Summer was happy for her friends. Maggie and Zabdiel liked each other, Adelia and Joel had reached their fourth date, Michelle and Christopher were consummated (not her words) and Allie and Erick clearly liked each other but neither had the guts to reveal it. Even the reality show was going fairly well, they had got used to the nosy cameras everywhere. And the fans loved the couples so that was good too.

She still felt left out from the summer of love.

So when the cute surfer boy waved at her while she was at the beach, she was excited.

Until the sun disappeared from her view and all she saw was a muscular tanned back.

"What the he-" She removed her sunglasses and her voice died in her throat when she saw Richard.

Her face turned into a sneer "Excuse you" 

Richard chuckled "No can do, princess"

"Princess?" Summer chuckled, thinking of that Ashnikko song.

Both glared at each other

"Hey, dude" Theie eyes snapped towards the voice to see Surfer Boy ruffling his hair, a dimpled smile on his face.

Summer cleared her throat and smiled 

"I'm Summer" she held out a hand

"Tai" He smiled at her "Care for a drink?" he motioned to the cabana and Summer opened her mouth to respond but Richard beat her to it.

"Sorry, man, you're a little late to the party" He wrapped an arm around Summer's waist and the girl's skin burned. 

"Oh, um..." Tai shifted awkwardly "Let me buy all of us a round?"

Summer rolled her eyes at Richard, Tai was just being nice.

She beamed friendlily at Tai "Sure"

"So" Tai smiled after their Pina Coladas had arrived "How did you guys meet?"

"We only met a few months ago, I saw her and I was like, damn, she cute" Richard's chuckle sent a shiver down her spine.

"Actually we..." Summer started 

"We're in love" Richard put is arm around her shoulders

Summer spit out her drink, turning to Richard wide eyed.

She turned to Tai, who looked confused and concerned by her reaction.

"I think we should go now" She handed Tai some money "Thanks, see you around" 

The blonde nodded, bewildered.

Summer took Richard's hand and dragged him to the house, not caring who saw.

"Oye, càlmate, princesa" The boy said when they were in the house.

Summer turned to face him "How 'bout YOU càlmate? Pretending we're in love?" She scoffed.

"Tell me then" Richard said huskily

"What?"

"Tell me you don't even feel a particle of attraction towards me. Because , sugar, I meant everything I said to Discount Leonardo DiCaprio"

Summer didn't respond. She couldn't.

She didn't even laugh at the Discount Leo DiCaprio dig at Tai.

She just walked away.

'Just like you always do' the voice in her head chided.

She hated that voice. Because it was right.
