It all just happened so fast...
"Let go of me! Mom! Dad!"
"Let him go!"
"He's our son!"
Then just like that, my parents were shot dead right in front of me.
"NO!"
I felt it, a darkness growing out from me, then I blacked out. When I came too, all the soldiers were dead. I ran away but I was hunted down and captured again. Throwing me into a straitjacket, they dragged me into an abandoned high school building, more like a prison.
"They were my parents you monsters!"
Struggling in their grip while yelling, they pinned me on the ground in an all white room. Tears were running at this point.
"Let me go! Let me-"
Feeling a pinch in my back, I winced, struggled a little harder but sleep was taking me down.
"No! No N..."
After a minute my muscles started to relax, the guards waited till I was completely still, eyes fluttering closed to move off of me. My view spiraled into black, then I felt nothing after that.

"Hey, there he is."
I groaned awake, but my eyes widened seeing I was strapped to a metal table, starting to struggle.
"There's no point-"
"What do you people want? You already took my family."
I said, whoever this guy was chuckled at me, pulling off his mask.
"I'm the person tasked with figuring out what you are."
"I don't want to be whatever this is."
"I don't think you have a choice kid."
Glaring at him, he turned a knob on the table which sent electric coursing through my body. I yelled in agony, struggling in vain, skin was rubbing off. It seemed to go on forever until it suddenly stopped, my back slammed onto the table. As a pained groan crawled out of my throat.
"Interesting, it looks like it doesn't attack even if you're hurt."
My view was split, as I turned my head my body jerked a bit.
"But I wonder if it attacks when you're unconscious."
I knew where that was going, but before I could retort he sent another surge through my spine. Not to mentioned he turned it all the way up. My nails scratched the table I screamed in pain, I was hitting my limit, as my body went limp and my eyes rolled back. After a long span of black, whispers filled my ears then suddenly a loud scream woke me up completely. I shifted onto my side seeing I was off the table and on the floor.
"You got a strong darkness in you kid."
The guy said standing behind a two way mirror this time that peered into my room, by his bruises he got beat up. But he wasn't dead which told me a lot.
"What happened exactly?"
I asked, I needed some clarity too.
"Well once you went unconscious-"
Suddenly his audio went out, I couldn't hear him anymore. Which probably meant whoever runs this place wants to make it a point not to give me any hints. The guy rolled his eyes drawing with his finger "Flynn" before leaving entirely. Even the mirror went white.
"Great."
I said moving to lean on the wall, rubbing my hand through my black curly hair. It reminded me whenever I would be down my Mom would do so, singing sweetly in my ear. Those were simpler times...
"Blake right?"
Looking up, a girl walked up to me and instinctively I stepped back. But actually staring she was in a straitjacket like me, as my door slammed closed.
"I'm Eva, don't stare."
"Oh, sorry."
We shook hands, before sitting together. Both of our expressions dark.
"They took my sister from me, they'll pay for that..."
Rage trickled over her voice, it made me think of my own losses.
"I lost my parents, I don't really remember much after that other then the guards being slaughtered."
"Do you know what you're ability is?"
Eva said as we locked eyes, I responded.
"No, it's more like a darkness I feel. I don't know what it is."
"I know I can manipulate blood to an extent, but its minor, I can only do it on insects."
"You're already doing better than me."
Dipping my head, I know she said not too but I started to stare again. She was a redhead, with sea blue eyes and a hint of green. Her skin was flawless, at
that point I bounced my eyes, any lower than that and I'd be staring for the wrong reason.
"Why did they put us together?"
"Whatever it is, it can't be good."
I said lowering my gaze, before locking eyes with her again.
"But I'm glad you're here, make me feel less crazy-"
"You're not the crazy one, it's these people thinking they can get away with this."
"Well for the moment they will, I need more clarity on my darkness before moving forward."
Speaking of, Flynn entered the room but he wasn't alone this time, a woman was next to him. She spoke first.
"I'm sorry about you're family members, those men have been dealt with..."
As I noticed blood dripping on her fingers to the floor.
"But if you cooperate you'll be able to leave."
"With powers like these we can never be free."
Eva said, her rage back.
"You can, if you learn to control it."
Flynn said, as guards filled the room.
"Follow me, we need to do some tests."
The woman said to Eva, as she gave me a look before going with the woman. Flynn pulled me along in a side direction, but we were both surrounded by guards. I reached a room with a doctor in it, he checked my temperature and vitals. Even my ears too.
"Is there anything abnormal that you feel?"
"I..."
I started to say, I didn't really want to reveal anything but I didn't have much choice.
"I hear whispers sometimes, or screams whenever I'm asleep."
"Hmm, anything while you're awake?"
"No."
But I had a feeling it wasn't far behind.
