"Wow..."
I said heavily sighing, it was a means to an end, but she had me pretty good though.
"Oh don't tell me you-"
"No I didn't figure it out till now sweetheart, but you had a good run."
Slipping out of her grip, I stepped out and grabbed a towel to dry myself off.
"There really is no way to get through to you..."
There's the Eva I know, caring compassionate heart.
"If you're gonna want me, you have to want me as I am now, not as I was before-"
"But you want to kill people!"
Tears in her throat, I smacked my lips pulling my clothes back on, locking eyes with her.
"Sorry."
Pushing through the door, I heard her crying from here almost halting my step but walked all the way to my room and sat on the edge of my bed. Whispers filled my ears, before even any guilt could grab onto me it was silenced by my darkness.
"She will come around, she likes power."
"She craves love, not darkness."
"Her drive to save you has changed yes, but that doesn't mean she doesn't still want you..."
True, it was a long shot to think about, but I guess she will come around.
"...Blake Flynn is at the door for you."
Blinking up, I went back out into the hallway wondering why he didn't just come in. But talking to my darkness probably looked crazy.
"How do you like it up here?"
"It's great, being able to talk to Eva is refreshing..."
My tight smile was fading.
"But?"
"But her personality compared to mine now isn't compatible."
"I see..."
Flynn said gripping my shoulder.
"Think of it this way, since you two are strong you'll always be around each other."
"There's nothing more lonely than being around someone who doesn't want you back."
Leaning on my doorframe, I sighed combing my hair through my hand, feeling Eva's gaze on me from her room. I guess she is listening.
"Well listen, now you have to spar against the guards every day from now."
"Keep us in shape."
"Yep, the two days you had were just to get you accustomed to the area, the test starts tomorrow."
"Thanks, Flynn."
We both looked up then, I don't usually say that as I closed my room door. I showered with the thought of Eva on my mind heavily, what we'd do together in here, alone...
"If you want her, go get her..."
Exhaling I shook my head and said.
"No, I need power first, and to do that I need to kill."

Inhaling awake, I felt five presences in my room and they were hostile, spreading my darkness across the entire room. I clenched my fist closed covering them all in darkness before throwing them up into the ceiling. From there I thought "crush them alive" as I heard their bones crack, more guards bust through my door as I decided to throw the ones I had into them at full speed. Sprawling onto my feet, I jumped over the downed guards through my door, to be surrounded on both sides. But these guys had guns.
"Oh shi-"
Barely shrouding myself in an orb of darkness, the bullets weren't ricocheting but were being absorbed, either way works for me. Since my arms were in an X, I broke it sending a shockwave of darkness knocking everyone back. Going into a sprint down the hallway, I could hear Eva grunting and decided to head there. Rolling in front of her, another barrage of bullets was coming and I threw up another dark wall to cover us both since hers was blown to bits.
"You can do that?!"
"Apparently!"
Glad this small talk hasn't faded, at least not yet. Using the cover, Eva cut the air with her hands breaking limbs easily and efficiently, so I'll leave that to her.
"We got more coming from the opposite side!"
Eva screamed as I move the wall in front of her, one of the guards from the side she demolished wasn't down yet and got a nice shot in my right leg. I grunted in pain, splitting my darkness to grab and snap his neck. To think my first kill would be so quick.
"We gotta move or they'll surround us!"
I said to Eva pulling her arm as we ran, or she ran as I hobbled up the steps. This was going to slow us down, so I wrapped my darkness up and around my leg, focusing on "strength" as adrenaline flowed down and I couldn't feel the pain anymore.
"Up there!"
Eva pointed to an extra part of the second floor by a rail. I pulled her to my chest, before shooting a line of darkness to grab it, guards were shooting at us but I pulled us up just in time. a little too much though as we rolled onto the ledge. Helping her up I said.
"Are you shot?"
"No-"
"Are you sure? "
She was surprised at how much I pressed her for it, and sure enough, Eva was shot in the lower stomach. But with a wave of her hand, it clotted almost immediately, darkness still wrapped around foot she said.
"Let me clot that."
Releasing it, she twisted her fingers clotting my wound closed which will definitely help in the long run.
"Okay, though I don't like being ambushed I feel like it's way to quiet-"
And sure enough both me and Eva were hit with waves of something but it was completely different, hers fizzled with electricity for me my ears rung and it felt like the air and energy was knocked out of me all at once. Both of us collapsing onto the ground, I coughed up a tiny but evident amount of blood.
"So that's their weaknesses, ironic."
"I think you could've eased up on Blake, Hazel-"
"He's the strongest out of the two of them..."
My eyes rolled to the back of my head, hair in my face, and all.
