Me and Johnny's relationship was no longer a secret. We would always get jealous around certain people, like if I was talking to a boy, he would be clingy. It's just the way it works, ya know? Johnny was too sweet to be human. I had forgotten about Lee because after the date, he ignored me. Typical socs. Over the summer, I've been learning how to drive. Obviously Steve, Soda, and Darry taught me. It wasn't hard. In fact, I had already gotten the hang of it the first time. It's probably the way I can work with cars in my blood, like soda's. I've always wanted to go back to the West side to see the beach again. I waited for the perfect time when the sun was gonna set. "Johnny?" Johnny always stays over at my house 24/7. He sleeps with me in my room and Darry said he doesn't mind. He likes Johnny around because Johnny was a companion to Pony and kept me from getting into trouble. I opened the door to my bedroom to find Johnny writing on a piece of paper. He looked up and quickly hid it, so I pretended not to notice. He was just so cute. "Johnny can I take you somewhere?" I wanted to tell Johnny about the beach. We've never been on dates before, and I wanted one badly. "Of c-course" Johnny stuttered. I forgot to mention, it was me and Soda's birthday today. We just turned 17. Johnny turned 17 last month. We've already celebrated, but the only gift I could get was to go to the beach with Johnny, That was probably the best gift I could think of. Just me and my boyfriend watching the sunset while the ocean tides were gentle. After the sun settled we could star gaze. We always have our best conversation stargazing. Johnny walked out of the room, making sure I didn't notice the piece of paper. I decided to wear something nice for Johnny and Johnny only. I wore my special black flower dress with my yellow pale cardigan. I don't ever wear fancy shoes but I decided to pair my outfit with some white flats.

I walked out of my bedroom door. Immediately, the whole gang eyes was on me, besides Darry, Soda, and Pony. They've seen me wear this outfit on certain occasions. "Darry, can I go somewhere with Johnny?" "Of course kiddo" Darry smiled. It was nice when Darry was in a good mood. Johnny grasped my hand and we walked outside. I closed the door and that's when Johnny cracked. "You look so b-beautiful y/n." That made me blush. Hard. Johnny was the only guy that could make me blush that much and have butterflies in my stomach. We walked to Darry's car because I was gonna drive us to the beach. "Oh yeah Johnny I forgot to mention...can this be a date?" I saw nervously. Johnny stared at me for some time. "Y-yeah of c-course!" Johnny blushed. I gripped the steering wheel as we headed to the West side.
