Tim and Dallas play an innocent game of pool. (they really don't)

-

Dallas was hanging around the porch of the Curtis brothers' place, absentmindedly smoking a cigarette as he waited for Johnny to finish talking with Ponyboy. They were taking an awfully long time, but Dallas didn't mind. It gave him time to just wind back and think. He looked up at the sky and watched some  clouds pass by slowly. He smiled, puffing out a large cloud of smoke from his mouth. It reminded him of the time when Ponyboy forced him and Johnny to cloud gaze with him. At first, it bored Dallas out of his mind, but as the trio struck up conversation about what shapes they saw, a bunch of laughter filled the silence. It was nice.

"Fuck. What's taking them so damn long?" Dallas grumbled to himself, looking back at the house behind him.

When he turned back around, he was suddenly greeted by a familiar face, which made him jump.

"Jesus fuck," Dallas sighed, holding onto his chest.

It was none other than Tim Shepard, who had an amused grin on his face.

"Did I scare you? I guess my face really is that fucked up," Tim laughed at himself.

"Nah, nah. I just didn't expect you to be here," Dallas said, looking the older man up and down.

Tim fully stood up and stretched, looking at the Curtis house curiously.

"So, what's goin' on, sexy? What you waitin' out here for?" Tim said, looking down at Dallas.

"Waitin' for Pony and Johnny to come out. But they're taking so goddamn long," Dallas complained to his boyfriend, holding his cigarette between two of his fingers while sucking his teeth.

Tim stole the cigarette from Dallas' hand, taking a quick puff before handing it back to him.

"What're y'all gonna do?" Tim asked, balancing himself on his toes. He felt just a little left out.

"Ah, y'know. Just walk around... maybe get some lunch. Who knows? It's unpredictable with these two," Dallas shrugged.

"I see. Well then, I didn't mean to intrude on your little get-together. I'll leave you alone," Tim said, spinning on his heels in order to go. However, he stopped when he felt a slight tug on his leather jacket. He looked over to see Dallas' hand on it, the blond looking up at him with impatient eyes.

"Stay here. I'm not gonna sit here and wait for another half-hour. I'm gonna go check on 'em," Dallas said, standing up from the porch. He walked over to the screen door and opened it.

"Yo. Are we going or—"

Dallas stood in the doorway, raising his eyebrows a bit at the scene before him.

Johnny and Ponyboy were on the couch fast asleep. But Ponyboy was nestled into Johnny's side, an arm wrapped around the older boy's stomach and his face squished up against Johnny's chest. Johnny had one arm resting on top of his stomach while the other was folded so that his hand was exploring Ponyboy's hair. Both were blushing a bit and had a warm smile on their faces.

Dallas quietly exited the house, smiling softly to himself.

"Are they okay?" Tim said, noticing Dallas.

"Yeah. They're sleeping. I did hear Pony say that he had a lotta exams this week," Dallas said to himself, "I'll let them rest."

"So... what I'm hearing is that you're free," Tim said quietly, walking up to the blond and squeezing his arms gently from behind. Dallas gave him a little side eye and smirked.
