Tim takes Dallas out to the drive-in, hoping to get a treat better than popcorn.
-
A couple of weeks after his little encounter with Dallas, Tim found himself thinking about the blond constantly. Whether he would be in the shower, drinking coffee at the kitchen table, or simply lying in his bed, the blond seemed to make his way into his head; specifically his naked body.
As he remembered this, Tim rubbed his chin tiredly, feeling over his stubble. He hasn't seen the blond in a while, and it was getting to him.
"Why do you look like shit?"
Tim turned his head to see his younger brother Curly, wearing a large-fitting T-shirt and red boxers.
"Don't fucking start with me this morning. I'm just thinking about something."
"Thinking about what?" Curly asked, grabbing a bowl from one of the cupboards.
"... It's nothing serious. What're your plans for today?"
"I don't know. Be lazy, I guess."
Tim watched him pour cereal, sighing to himself. "As long as you don't get in too much trouble," he said, "Is Angela up?" "Nah. She's still sleeping," Curly said, taking out the milk from the fridge, "She had that date, remember?"
"Right, right," Tim said groggily, his body feeling heavy. "You going out today?" Curly asked his brother, running over to the kitchen table. "I don't know. I might go and see Dal," Tim mumbled, sitting at the table with him. Curly stuffed a spoonful of cereal into his mouth before nodding. "Okay. You gonna go see your little boyfriend?" he said teasingly. "Yeah, whatever," Tim rolled his eyes, getting up from the table.
After taking a needed shower, Tim sat in front of his bedroom mirror, trying to detangle his knotted curly hair. He wanted to do something with Dallas; something that real couples do. Like going out to eat or going to the movies. Movies... Does Dal like movies? Tim thought to himself as he finished up one section of his hair.
He knows Ponyboy loves them because Dallas told him. But he never said that he himself liked them. "Maybe I should ask him," Tim whispered to himself. Then, he shook his head. "No, no. That's stupid," he countered himself. As he continued to do his hair, he noticed the large, permanent scar on his face. He grazed it gently with his thumb, scowling at it. "God. I don't see how Dal can put up with my stupid ass," Tim muttered.
"Yo, Tim! Dally's here!"
Why the hell is he here? Tim asked in his head. He decided not to think about his suspicions and tied his hair back before walking towards the living room.
Dallas was talking to Curly before looking up at Tim. It took him a couple of seconds to realize that he only had a towel on. Clearing his throat, he looked down at the floor, hoping the Shepard brothers didn't see his pink face. "Morning," Tim yawned. "M-Morning," Dallas said, his voice sounding small. Curly looked at the two males and raised an eyebrow. "I'll be in my room," Curly said, finding the situation awkward.
Dallas made sure Curly was gone before speaking. "Where the fuck are your clothes?" Dallas said, crossing his arms. "I just got out of the shower. Cut me some slack," Tim defended himself, "What are you doing here? Especially this early." "I wanted to ask you something," Dallas said, his eyes trailing down Tim's torso. "Alright. But if you're gonna ask me, just know my eyes are up here," Tim said slyly, lifting Dallas' chin up. The blond growled at him. "Shut up. I'm wondering if you want to go to the drive-in and... watch a movie or somethin'," Dallas confessed, failing to make eye contact.
