Chapter 26: Old friends

"Come on we are going to be late!!" Hunk was rushing around making sure he had everything "I promised cookies!!" "That over years ago Hunk, Lance probably doesn't remember!!" Hunk giggled "this is Lance we are talking about." I mean he has a point.

I made sure to pack some clothes as we were staying with Lance and his parents for the week. "Don't forget Keith's hippo, he forgot it when he was here last!!" As I say this Hunk walks in with a bad full of clothes a basket of cookies and a hippo on his head. Causing me to giggle "hey don't laugh at me... help me!!"

Once we were finished loading our lions we set off for the planet (no idea what I should call it someone give me some ideas 😭)

After a few ticks we finally landed after like forever. "I wonder where they are?" Allura helps us get to the capital, we go to Keith's place first to drop off his hippo.

We knock on the door and a nice looking woman let us in. We sat in what seemed to be the living-room. "We brought Keith's hippo." She smiles before her smile is replaced with a sad look. "I don't know if he likes that thing anymore, he doesn't like much these days." As she says this Keith walks out of the room whilst rubbing his eyes.

Almost instantly his eyes lit up "IPPO" he pulls it out of our hands "ook omma it ippo." He giggles while holding it. "T-Thank you... for making him happy."

Then something happened that shook both me and Pidge. His emotions seemed to fade leaving a child with no emotion in sight. "What happened to him?!?" The woman began to cry "a year ago Marice was locked up for something that he didn't do for an entire year he only got out a few weeks ago... since then he has been like this. H-He barely even smiles anymore!!" She burst into tears.

"Omma sad?" He looked at her "no no darling I'm not sad don't worry." He nodded "Ance?" That's right we are going to see Lance next. "Hey buddy we'll be going to see him soon wanna come?" He smiles and nods his head. "Well that settles things."

While we talk to Keith the woman walks out of the room returning with a small bag. "This has everything he will need including nappies, his milk and blanket." Why does he need a blanket? "Why would blur need?" Before I could answer she cut in "he sleeps a lot... he will most certainly go to sleep while you are there."

We leave the house while waving to the woman setting off for Lance's home.

When we get there he smiles at us "Unk!!! Pijg!!" He jumps to us but when he sees Keith in my arms he tries to get to him so place him down. They both get up and run out of the room. "They both are very happy together." A voice says. "My name is Zaraok... I am Antok and Lotor's brother."

We greet him before he leads us to our rooms.

"You will stay in this room and you will stay in the opposite one. My room is just at the end of the hall so you can come any time." Keith and Lance came in running Keith tripping and banging guns head on the floor. He didn't cry he just got up. Zaraok picked him up and placed him on a chair. "Let's make sure you haven't hurt yourself too much shall we?" He pulled a weird remote out of him pocket and scanned his head. "All done you don't seem to have hurt yourself."

Keith nodded before jumping from the chair and running off with Lance. "What was that?" He looks at me before smiling. "Because Marice is unable to tell people he is hurt we have to scan him every so often." Both me and Pidge nod our heads at what he said. "I should be off... goodbye paladins. With that he was gone.

Oh that's right "Lance!!" I shouted his name creating a mob of shoeless footprints coming towards us "ess Uhk?" I picked the basket up of cookies and gave it to him. His face shot up with excitement. "Oo embered!!" He pushed his hand in and picked a cookie out handing it to Keith. "Ank oo." Lance said in a soft yet robotic voice. "No problem buddy." They both run out of the room with the cookies.

"Told you he would remember." Pidge nudges me then walks into her room smiling. "I wonder where Shiro is?" Keith walks up to me and grabs my leg "Shiwo is iv momma." I smile and lift him up "how are you buddy?" He pushes his head into my shoulder "m'tired" his mum was right he would get tired.

"I will take him to lye down." I turn around to find Haggar. I hesitantly hand him over. "Don't worry no harm will come to the soulmate of my child." She smiles before walking down the hall. I walk into my room.

I better rest up before taking Keith back home. And I have yet to see Shiro. Guess I'll have to change as well it's strange not having to wear my armour, I don't even know why I have it on.
