That didn't go as planned (3)

And here it is. The last part of this mini series. Now I don't know how a divorce looks like and how long it really takes so bare with me for this story. I was just too lazy to do research on this one😅 have fun reading this.☺️

The following weeks were stressful. And weird. Cady and Janis ended up having sex that night. And even though Cady didn't cheat on Aaron and she couldn't deny that it was amazing, it still felt off. She almost felt entirely bad for feeling this way. For still enjoying the way Janis nails dug into the soft skin of her thighs, only intensifying the indescribable feeling of Janis teasing her. For still wanting more. For still loving her. For falling out of love with Aaron. And the worst thing about the situation is that Janis understood even though she had no reason to feel this way.
Janis was too good for this world.
So she really needed to talk to Janis about everything, but being in the process of a divorce didn't make that very easy. Damian and Janis both were still there for her making sure she was doing okay along the way and helped her move into a tiny apartment near theirs. Just like old times they're just a 5 minute walk away, which definitely made Cady feel a lot better and a lot more at home than she did before.
The divorce was nasty. Aaron tried everything he could to take everything away from Cady. It was exhausting. She sometimes even couldn't get out of bed for days. Feeling depressed, not really knowing why Aaron did this to her. As a result her fridge was in a constant state of being empty. Good thing that angels really do exist in this world. At some point Cady would get a text from Janis or Damian - but mostly Janis - saying "open the door" and every time there's a box full of food, drinks and snacks placed on her doorstep with a little post it saying things like "you got this" or "we love you <3".
It's save to say that Cady had the best friends in the entire universe.
Even though it was weird at times Cady still asked Janis to come around sometimes when she's anxious. And there wasn't a single time she said no. She always came by, sometimes with her guitar, and starts singing her favourite songs to her. At some points it made her question why she chose Aaron over her at some point of her life. Because there was never a time when she was with Janis that she wasn't truly happy. It always felt like they were little kids again. Carefree, no worries at all, the rest of the world simply fell away as soon as she was with her.
And this was the feeling Cady was always craving the most. It was a different time back then and Janis dad never approved Janis and Cadys relationship which in the end was one of the main reasons why they broke up. But what was stopping them now?
She was almost officially divorced, their parents are almost eight hundred miles away, they're both adults and they both had strong feelings for each other.
It was frustrating, to say the least.

After Cady had to spend a day at the courthouse for one last time, finally officially getting divorced from Aaron she couldn't be happier to go to Janis and Damians place watching all the Disney classics.
As she stepped out of the courthouse she couldn't believe what she saw. She thought Janis was being extra when she picked her up from the airport but her artistic mind combined with Damians even more extreme extraness was just a whole different level.
She was greeted by Janis and Damian standing at the bottom of the steps holding holographic pride balloons - probably the only ones they owned - and a big canvas which says "Congrats on being single (again)" in white letters on a deep red background.
Now. Every normal thinking human being would've been sad or extremely pissed at their friends for doing something like this. But Cady just grinned from ear to ear, shaking her head while she was walking towards them.
"Really guys?" She asked going in for a group hug. "Really." Janis and Damian said simultaneously, grinning back at their friend.
As soon as they got to Janis and Damians place and settled down on the couch Damian took Cadys phone and said "I'm going to download every dating app imaginable for you so you can find someone who's actually good for you as soon as you can."
"I don't think we need dating apps for that." Cady said not even looking away from the screen as she was looking through Disney+, deciding what to watch. She didn't even really think about the statement herself. Her feelings for Janis only grew over the time making it hard to believe that she would ever find someone else who could be better for her.
Damian and Janis both looked back at her. Damian was more than pleasantly surprised to hear that Cady already had someone in mind, while Janis had this hopeful smile on her face, her eyes practically sparkling. Cady smiled back at her nodding slightly.
There was a pause until Damian asked "Sooooo will you tell us who it is or do we have to wait until your day dream is over?" He had his back turned to Janis so he was still oblivious to the idea that it was Janis who she was talking about.
Both, Cady and Janis chuckled.
"What? What does Janis know that I don't-" then it hit him. As expected Damian jumped up from the couch yelling "I KNEW IT. I KNEW IT. I KNEW IT." Damian was jumping up and down while Janis and Cady were blushing to their roots.
Janis took Cadys hand saying "Come on. We need to talk... without that thing around."  Damian smirked at Janis as they made their way to her room.
As the door closed there was a moment of silence between them. No one really knew what to say. So Janis just followed her instincts and put her arms around Cadys waist hugging her tightly, swaying them a little. The last bit of tension slowly fading.
"You know we don't have to rush into anything right? If you need more time that's totally fine..."
"I know." Cady said looking up at Janis. Placing her chin onto her chest as she always does.
They just smiled at each other for a moment.
"Do you really mean what you said to Aaron?"Cady asked. A more serious tone in her voice this time.
"Yes... I thought that was kinda obvious by now." Janis said sheepishly. She tucked a strand of hair behind Cadys ear resting her hand onto her cheek brushing her thumb over her cheekbone.
Cady smiled back at her whispering a little "good" before putting her hand onto Janis neck, pulling her down and kissing her softly. Their lips met slowly, kiss after kiss. Cady ran her hands through Janis thick hair while Janis grip around Cadys waist tightened. Cady pulled her closer as they kissed over and over again, nipping at her bottom lip ever so gently. They occasionally laughed a little, murmuring soft words into the kisses, forgetting everything around them.
As they pulled apart Janis murmured a little "I missed you."
Cady smiled. "I missed you too."
And there it was. That warm feeling of true happiness, the feeling of being complete, the feeling she was searching for all this time.
The way she found it and how her life went up until this point may didn't go as planned but she still wouldn't want it any other way.

This is it. I hope you liked it and should I write more "longer" stories? I really had fun with this one and I'm seriously debating if I should do more. It's up to you☺️ As always have a nice day, Until next time. Bye✌️♥️
