" we separated in the most tragic way, I had to say my farewell to you in the most heartbreaking way. it grieves me to say this, but I love you. "

jean sighed as she knocked again on the door. she had a worried look on her face.

" venti, you gotta get some fresh air you know? "

no response from the other side, she'd sigh, before turning around to leave. venti was busy, well, trying to keep himself busy and distracted by writing letters to his loved one, Y/N. who knows where she could be right now. no one knows.

venti got up, as he finished writing his fifth letter ever since they had separated. he gathered all the letters that was on his desk. walking out the door and went to a certain place.

It was currently night time, fireflies and butterflies surrounded the place, beautiful flowers were scattered on the vibrant grass. he sat down infront of a certain object.

" Y/N, why did you have to leave me this way. "

he uttered out, starting to cry. he dropped the letters on the ground, crying near the gravestone of his beloved. he swore to protect her, and yet he failed to do so. he blamed himself for that.

" I'm sorry for not protecting you. "

he mumbled, looking down, still crying. he soon clasped his hands together, closing his eyes.

" to whoever is hearing this prayer. "

he paused, taking a deep breath.

" please, bring Y/N back. "

he silently said, as he soon started to cry again. he felt someone sit beside him. he looked and saw zhongli.

" z ─ zhongli.."

his hands were still clasped together, zhongli would let our a soft sigh, looking st the gravestone.

" my apologies for not being able to do anything about this. "

" it's fine. "

venti had said, looking away, he was sure that zhongli heard his small prayer. and felt pity for the poor boy having his loved one die infront of his eyes.

" I do have something to give you though. "

" what is it? "

venti asked, zhongli handed him a small bag.

" use it wisely. "

he said before getting up to leave, venti opened the small bag seeing three items. two seemed like it was supposed to go together. the other one seemed like small orb. one of the items were a container with the petals of your favourite flower.

venti tilted his head slightly before placing the two things together. suddenly, someone appeared beside him.

" Y ─ Y/N..? "

" venti? you can see me? "

they were both shocked, the item that zhongli had given him gave him the power to turn Y/N into a ghost.

venti tried to hug her tightly, she seemed cold. she'd smile faintly, hugging back tightly.

" it's not your fault venti. "

" sure it isn't. "

he said sarcastically, she would just frown.

" please don't blame yourself. "

she mumbled before disappearing into thin air, he widened his eyes looking around.

" i love you Y/N.. "

he mumbled, a faint gush of wind had whispered something into his ear.

" i love you too. "

venti looked at the other item, it was a orb, he slightly rubbed it tilting his head, it did nothing. he sighed softly and placed it in his pocket.

he placed the letters near her gravestone getting up.

" i hope you rest well Y/N "

he smiled sadly, looking down at her gravestone for the last time before heading back to his room.
