Dhananjaya then pierced Karna with dozen shafts that penetrated through Karna's armour drank his blood and entered the earth.Karna hot angry and shot many arrows at Krishna and Arjuna.
Arjuna then pierced Karna's vital limbs with ninety shafts and Karna trembled like mountain struck by thunder.
Arjun's arrows made Zkarna's heDgear fall on the earth.Karna's armour also was cut off into many fragments.Arjuna then pierced Karna with four keen shafts.Karna suffered with great pain.
Once more Arjuna pierced Karna's vital limbs with well aimed arrows sped from Gandiv.
Karna 's body is covered with blood as everywhere he was struck by Arjun.
Arjun then shot at Karna's chest with iron shafts that has hold wings.Karna became inactive as he is in great pain.Arjuna stood waiting for his rival to recover and resume fight.
Krishna warned Arjun. Don't give him respite Parth, Slay your formidable rival Don't be compassionate.
Hearing those words Arjuna again covered Karna with excellent arrows that have gold wings,
Karna shot arrows at Parth but Arjuna destroyed them all.
At that moment the Brahmin's curse and Parasurama's curse became effective.
The high Brahmastra escaped from his memory the left wheel of his car sank into the earth.
Karna became agitated by Arjun's arrows. His horses and driver lost their balance.
Karna then pierced Krishna and Arjuna with keen shafts.
Arjuna then shot seventeen arrows that went through Karna's body and fell on the earth.
Karna made a super effort and became successful in hurling Brahmastra Arjun's Aindrastra also was baffled by Karna.
Krishna goaded Arjun." Shoot high Astras Parth. Otherwise Karna won't mend ."
Arjuna shot Brahmastra and struck Karna with with many arrows.
Karna cut the string of Gandiva eleven times.So quickly find Arjuna replaced the string that Karna could not realise when it was cut and when replaced.
It looked like Karna is extracting the best of Arjun's prowess by fighting with great power,
Arjuna then invoked Raudra star on his shaft and became ready to shoot it.
But Karna alighted from his chariot and asked Arjun to wait till he lifts his wheel

Karna said." Arjun you are the foremost warrior and righteous .You know the rules of battle.So wait till I uplift my car"
Krishna ridiculed Karna." My good luck you remember righteousness today.You find not think of it when Krishnaa was dragged into the assembly. Neither when Sakuni cheated Yudhishtir.You find not remember it when you uttered insane words to Draupadi.Just recently you all killed Abhi who is all alone and you did not remember righteousness .Dont think now you can escape with life.Pandavas will win back their Kingdom.by their virtue."
Hearing his words Karna hung down his head with shame.He took his bow and continued his battle.
Krishna alerted Arjun." Throw him down Parth. Don't spare him."
Arjuna became enraged remembering the past incidents.
Karna invoked Brahmastra showered numerous shafts and again tried to lift his wheel.
Arjun nullified it with his Brahmastra and continued to strike him.
Arjun hurled Agneyastr while Karna used Varunastra on it,
Karna created clouds and Arjun dispelled them with Vayavyastra.
Karna took a terrible arrow blazing like fire.
Arjun was struck on his chest and he got reeling sensation.Gandiv dropped from his hand.
Karna took the opportunity and tried to lift his wheel.
Arjuna recovered took his Gandiv and fixed a deadly shaft called anjalika.
Before that he cut the standard of Karna with a razor sharp arrow.it fell on the ground crushing the hopes of Karna.
Then Parth fixed Anjalikastra that looked like siva's Pinaka and Narayan's Sudarsan.
As Arjuna fixed that entire universe trembled with fear.
Drawing his bow Gandiva Arjuna said." Let this shaft destroy my enemy if I have practiced severe austerities ,gratified my Elders . This mighty Anjalika may slay Karna and deprive him of life."
So saying Jishnu released that Astra cheerfully.
Anjalika sped fast and cut off the head of Karna.
Deprived of life the body fell on earth and a light came out of it and entered the Sun.

After the fall of Karna Salya looked bewildered and rode off to Duryothan who was in shock.He described the greatest battle ever fought and sighed." Who can avert the fate Yuvaraj? Today victory eluded us and choose Pandavas.The two Krishnas proved their invincibility."
Duryothan could not come to terms with Karna's death.He shed tears and cried aloud." O Karna where did you go leaving me?
The Kuru army fled away from the Devine chariot with Ape banner looking back again and again at the two Krishnas.
Krishna embraced Arjun and lauded him." Parth. You finally won back the earth for your brother. You proved your skills .There is none who can equal you in valour. Your hard work,dedication and penance made you win the greatest battle today. Now offer the earth to your brother and restore him as the king." Arjun smiled and said." As I always said I won because you are with me."
Krishna then told the Pandava warriors like Bheema,Satyaki and Dhrisht to take care of the army and said." Parth Your Eldest came to the battlefield but went back due to his physical pain caused by Karna.Let us go and inform him of Karna's death."
Yudhishtir then heard the notes of Panchajanya and Devadutta blowing victory tunes.
He got up on the bed and welcomed the two Krishnas
When they both touched his feet he. Pulled them up and hugged them closer.
"Krishna said with a beaming face." Maharaj, your brother achieved the impossible task and killed Karna.Now you almost regained the Earth. Enjoy the supreme power and rule righteously."
Yudhishtir replied in a broken voice. When you agreed to be the driver of Arjun's chariot then itself he has won.Due to your grace he is able to vanquish our rivals .Your concern for us made us sail through our difficulties."
Then Yudhishtir went
to the place where Karna lied down lifeless in the battlefield.
On seeing His rival gone into eternal sleep Yudhishtir felt relieved.and said. " our thirteen years of struggle pain sacrifice everything got wiped off by the death of this Vaikartana.Now that wicked Duryothan can not nourish any hope of victory."
As the Sun Set in the western horizon Pandava groups celebrated while the Kaurava troops retreated with fear leaderless and fearful.
Satyaki Dhrisht and Bheema lifted Arjun and Krishna on their shoulders and proceeded to the camp.
Panchali Subhadra and Uttara came out with beaming faces hearing the drums and bands that indicated them of the great victory that paved path to regain Hastinapur and their beloved Indraprasth.
Panchali had tears of joy falling down her cheeks.
Finally Arjun can have respite after strenuous trials unending battles ,he can feel free having fulfilled his duty.She looked at the greatest warrior who survived the onslaught of Karna and gained victory.
Panchali and Subhadra together did Arti and Tilak.
Uttara came running out of her sibir. Arjun held her close and confessed with tears.
" I can't bring back Abhi but I avenged by killing the one who broke his bow from behind. What can I do? My valour became useless to protect my son. Forgive me please."
Krishna consoled him " Parth Fate can not be averted. Wait for few months. Abhi's son will be in our hands. We both will bring him up. Panchali Subhadra stay away."
Every one laughed at the way Krishna diluted the sorrow of his Parth.
In the night Satyaki elaborately narrated the greatest battle fought between Arjun and Karna to them who were not present at the battle site.
Panchali listened to the narration in awe. It really is extraordinary. The way they both explored their every skill every Astra to win over the other.But still Arjun outsmarted his rival with his composure,intelligence and Govind's guidance.
Bheem proudly stated " You know Panchali. I know my brother is the best. But sometimes he needs to be scolded by me to deliver his best.Only after I scolded him did he perform well ."
Everyone laughed at Bheema's words. After Abhi's death first time Arjun laughed heart fully causing delight to Panchali's heart.Slightly bending his head back,with the smile extending to his eyes also and the ringing laugh gave Panchali big relief.
Satyaki stood up proudly and explained." You know I also thought that my Guru is not using his mettle completely while his rival is exploring his skills to a great extent. But later Krishna enlightened me that it is the strategy adopted by mu Gurudev Arjun.He first eliminated Karna's back up army and made him stand alone. He then proceeded to strike him fatally in his vital limbs and made him helpless and wounded.He then intensified his attack not giving him respite even for a second. Bhrata Bheem your brother is very smart and intelligent.Dont you agree?"
Bheem laughed merrily. " Ofcourse I agree. He is the most intelligent among us five.And don't forget to add the brainpower of Kanha to it. No one can challenge the two. Poor Duryothan. By tomorrow he also has to start his journey to reach his dearest friend Karna."
Every one clapped at that and rejoiced forgetting the pain and strain of seventeen days.
