Chapter 18

After I sent the video we watched some anime. At this point it was about eight. I stretched, "I'll go get out the extra mattress for me." 

"I can sleep on the floor!" Mari protested I put up my hand.

"Nah, you sleep on the bed I can't let a guest sleep on the floor." I said getting up.

"But I already caused trouble!" she tried again.

"And you'll cause more trouble if you don't take the bed." I told her. That seemed to shut her up.

I put the mattress in my room, "Wait on second thought this isn't gonna work..." I turned to Mari, "I'll just go put this outside." 

She grabbed my arm, "Um..." she paused.

"What?" I said confused. I stood there in shock, "N-No! I-I can't sleep in the same room as you!" 

"I-I'm a little scared..." she said turning a little red.

"What the- this has to be written straight out of anime right? Oh my god and then Dia's gonna walk in and call me a pervert..." I sighed.

"I-I don't like s-sleeping alone... I share a room with Kanan..."

"I could guess that..." I laughed.

"It's not what you think!" she said.

"What do you think I was referring to?" I said raising my eyebrow.

"W-what do you mean?" 

"I just said that since you were best friends then you should share a room." I said smiling, "Why was the first thing that came to your mind was-"

"That's enough of this topic!" she walked out of the room making me laugh so hard it hurt.

I looked at my phone, there was a text from Kanan. 

Tell Mari to brush her teeth I'm going to bed. Also she gets scared at night, she always wants a hug so you might need to give her a hug. 

I decided to be a smart guy and respond back. 

lol why do you care? I thought you said Mari can do everything on her own?

That was probably not the smartest decision as all I got was a middle finger emoji and this message.

Don't come crying to me if she wants a hug and will cry keeping you up all night.

That worried me if I'm being honest. I promise you Dia's gonna somehow show up at the wrong time and assume weird things.

It was now about nine o'clock. Tomorrow was Saturday it was also Halloween. Apparently the first years have something planned for us. But considering a fallen angel is one of those I'm honestly pretty scared.

When Mari came back in she was already in pajamas. 

About twenty minutes later I turned off the lights. "You really want me to sleep here?"

"Please?" she asked.

I sighed, "Fine, but if Dia or someone else walks in you have to explain it."

"Yep!" she smiled happily.

"Okay," I said as I lied down on the futon.

It was definitely an awkward ten minutes as I wasn't sure if Mari had fallen asleep or not. I didn't want to check for fear of being called a pervert. But I also didn't want her to think that she was alone.

A few minutes later I heard something coming from the bed. 

I'm pretty sure it was Mari sleep talking. 

"H-h-hagu shiyou...." she said happily. "Kanan... Hagu shiyou..."

Yep you know I took out my phone and recorded it. Number one, to send it to Kanan to guilt trip her again, and two for blackmail just in case Mari tries to make me do something I don't want to do.

I know if you witnessed this out of context, a sixteen year old filming a seventeen year old saying the words Hagu Shiyou over and over while she's asleep may look perverted.

Luckily there's so context this time.

Wait how do I word this so that it doesn't sound like I've done perverted things in the past?

I sent the video to Kanan and along with it the words, "Sounds like your girlfriend misses you..." 

She texted me a few minutes later, 

Tell her to come back.

Why?

I asked her.

Because Dia misses her.

I smiled. She was playing hard to get.

I'm pretty sure you spelled Kanan wrong. :)

No, Dia is spelled D-I-A She replied.

I sighed, shaking my head.

Okay I'll tell her...

She texted one more thing.

Also tell her to go to this address.

She sent the link.

K Good night.

The next day I woke up first to the banging of the front door.

I rolled off the futon, groggily walked downstairs, and answered the door.

"Hello?" I asked as I opened the door.

"Morning!" Dia said walking in.

"Can I help you?" 

She smirked, "Wow being a gentlemen are we?" 

"Where are you going?" I asked her as she walked upstairs.

"Wait." she paused as she looked at my room. There laid Mari still asleep. She glanced at the futon beside the bed and looked at me.

"B-before you say anything! Wake Mari up she'll explain to you everything!" I said in defense.

She shook Mari awake. 

"That was a good Hagu Shiyou last night," Mari said drowsily.

"EH?!?!" Dia said confused. 

"Now now now that's not fair!" I protested, "She's clearly not awake yet!" 

This was clearly not how I wanted to wake up this morning...

Alright sorry this was kinda rushed the next chapter Mari and Kanan will finally make up along with a Halloween special cause tomorrow's Halloween...
