Hollywood, 1995.

Kyle Kestell looked himself up and down in the mirror. It was his seventeenth birthday.
'One more year, just hang in.' Kyle quietly whispered to himself in the mirror.

'HAPPY BIRTHAY!' A sudden barge in his door caused Kyle to jump. 'God, Ally. Don't do that.' The boy sighed as his best friend wrapped her arms around him.
'I'm sorry babes, just so excited for my birthday boy!' The older girl exclaimed.
Ally was eight months older than Kyle, so she was almost eighteen.

'Shut up.' He groaned.
'Never.' The two friends hugged once again before Ally pulled away.
'Sooo i have a surprise.' She began. 'So I was walking the other day and I seen there's a concert tonight so I may or may not have got us tickets.' She beamed.
'Oh my. Ally you're the best! But like, who?' Kyle questioned

'Some band called, umh, one second...' Ally paused as she dug into her purse and pulled out the tickets. 'Sunset Curve. I was also given a demo CD by some guy so we can listen on the way there. Oh, and you're driving by the way.'

Kyle just simply nodded before his Mom came in. 'Awwww you two would make such a cute couple!' The older lady said.
Kyle went a bright shade of red before the two said 'No.' in unison.
The Kestell boy waved a slightly annoyed bye to his Mom before grabbing his keys, leaving the small apartment above his moms shop, hopping in his car and starting the engine.

'Are you ever going to tell her?' Ally asked as they sat in the car.
'That I'm gay? No.' He answered back.
'Why not?'
'Because you know how she is.' Kyle started the car as Ally put the CD into the player. 'I have one more year to suffer with her and then I'm leaving this place.'

'But then you'll be leaving me.' Ally protested.
'I'll call you, I'll send letters. I won't just disappear. At least not on you'
The older girl huffed as she sunk back into her seat and turned the volume up on the CD player, done with the conversation.

The song playing was admittedly good.
The duo pulled up to a stoplight on their way to the Orpheium where Sunset Curve were performing.
The two waited for a minute before the light turned green and Kyle pulled into the cross roads.

That was the biggest mistake.
A car sped from the left side as Kyle was driving, hitting the car on the drivers side. The impact of the crash killed Kyle Kestell instantly and severely injured Ally Fallon.

Kyle had no idea what happened after the crash. The last thing he remembered was driving with ally and a bright light and boom, suddenly he was in this weird infinite room that wasn't even a room. It was just dark.
The panic began to set in. He was dead. Kyle Kestell was dead.

It felt like time didn't exist because it took so long for Kyle to even form a single thought. It was mostly about his Mom, or Ally. Or if he was stuck in this vast void for eternity. Eventually he came to find that that last one was not true.

He didn't know what happened but suddenly Kyle was falling, hard. After what seemed like forever the boy eventually hit a small rug on some wooden flooring. But he wasn't alone.

Once the screaming of the other falling boys stopped Kyle opened his eyes and stood up. There were three other boys and a slightly shocked girl. 'How did we get back here?' One of them said which caused the young girl to begin screaming again, as did the three other boys, and Kyle.
