The four ghosts sat, stood and lay around Julie Molina's room, waiting for her to return home from school. Luke was desperately staring at a closed box, Reggie was doing a snow angel like motion in Julies bed, Alex was attempting to pick up a photo that was in a frame, and Kyle, sitting crossed-legged in a chair.

'Have any of you guys' been able to pick anything up yet?' Alex asked the group.
'Yeah, I have.' Kyle said to him.
'Wait for real?'
'Yeah, earlier when I went on that walk I ended up going to my old house. There was a letter that I never got to give to my mom so I opened my desk drawer, got the letter and put it on my bed.'

'Nice!' Alex gave Kyle a high-five.
Kyles stomach did a full on backflip.

'It's just the lack of touch over the past twenty-five years.' Kyle thought.

'Yeah, it was pretty good to y'know... get to do it.' Kyle looked down at his feet.
'Well, I'm proud of you, man. I don't know what it was but that's really cool that you got to give it to her after all that time.'
Kyle just smiled in response as Alex went back to trying to pick the photo up.

The bedroom door suddenly opened and before the boys had time to react Julie walked in.
'What are you doing in my room?' She exclaimed.
'Uhhhh...' the boys all started.
'We were looking for the kitchen?' Luke said, though it sounded more like a question.

'This... this can't happen. It's creepy.' Julies pointed her finger at the four ghosts.
'Get off my bed, please.' She said to Reggie before he jumped up.

'Hey Julie.' Luke raised his hand. 'What's in the box?'
'That's off limits.' Julie replied.
'Oh. Oh, OK. Girl stuff.' Luke chuckled.

'Oh, like butterflies and glitter?' Reggie asked
'Oh come on. I'm sorry about them.' Alex said to Julie.
'Yous are so insensitive.' Kyle added, making a tut-tut noise.

'It's none of your business. And yes, there might be some glitter.' Julie folded her arms.

'Hey!' Alex chuckled 'I actually picked something up.' The blond walked over to the bed excitedly before dropping the photo of Julie and her Mom on the bed.
'I dropped it.' He said.
'Hey, you picked it up in the first place. Little steps, bro.' Kyle patted his back as he stood beside Alex.

'Is that your mom?' Asked Luke.
'Yes and its my favourite picture of us. You break it I'll break you.' Julie picked up the picture, placing it on her bedside table.

'OK, well sorry because we're kind of unbreakable at this point.' Alex stated.

'I don't get it.' Sighed julie. 'You guys can mess up my bed, pick up your instruments, but you can't pick up other stuff.'
'I know right. It's hard but for some reason, our instruments, easy.' Said Luke.
'Yeah, like super easy.' Reggie added. 'Oh, and check out what I learned today!' Reggie said before proofing his bass into his hands and falling back onto Julies seat.

'Yeah, that looked super easy.' Julie replied.
'It's like I always thought, our instruments are attached to our souls.' Luke said

'Hey.' Said Julies dad as he walked in.
Julie quickly turned around, Reggie back-rolled off the seat, Luke stood still and Alex panicked and put his hand up to Kyles chest.

The ghost began to panick and quickly put his hand up to touch Alex's. The two quickly shared a look that sent butterflies zooming though Kyles stomach, before they disconnected their hands.

Kyle stood there, going up and down on his tippy toes not really listening.
He plopped himself down on the chair, only thinking about how Alex touched him, how his hand went up to his chest and just...
Kyle let out a small sigh as his head rested in his hand, staring at Alex who was paying attention to the conversation..

Then he realised.
'Oh no.' He thought. Kyle hated the idea of crushes and romance and stuff like that but looking at Alex... he was making all that change.

Kyle Kestell had a ghost crush.
