The orange tones painted in the sky served as the perfect canvas to announce Lilly and Scarlet meeting. At her door, Lilly couldn't avoid but to wonder about each direction would this conversation take. The petrifying fear torturing her guts was, unfortunately, telling her that, in contrast to the last time she had felt the soft sheets in Scarlet's bed, she wouldn't  enjoy this evening as much.

She knocked three times in the strong wooden door, after deeply breathing in some serenity and courage.

-Hi Lilly, please, come in. I have the kettle on, will do us a tea.

- Hi, thank you. That sounds lovely. - Lilly consciously proceeded.

Much like a congress man meeting, there was a certain formality being reeinforced by their uncomfortable smiles and rigid body language.

Now sat in the living room Scarlet awkwardly started the conversation, after putting the warm mug she was holding in between her hands on top of the leader coaster on the coffee table:

- I suppose I own you an explanation...- She paused leaving Lilly with the uncontrolled need to speed the rhythm of this conversation.

- I suppose you are right since you have been avoiding me, like a vampire avoids light.- wait? What? Lilly thought to herself embarrassed with her performance.

- You have all rights to feel mad at me. I wasn't fair to you, but things got complicated. I wasn't expecting this to happen.

- I see... I am sorry to ear that... - Lilly sarcastically responded - I understand your ex showing was not in the plan , but we are not children. You don't just ignore things and people hoping things disappear...

- I shouldn't have... - Little she knew that this was exactly what Scarlet had learnt to do. The way Scarlet had learn to deal with adversities was simply to disappear and start again. - You truly are amazing and you don't need to be involved in all this... I am sorry I have wasted your time.

-Is this why you called me here? To say you don't want to see me anymore?

- You don't understand, I am trying to do the right thing for you...

-For me? Is that right? Scarlet you don't owe me nothing. We had a very nice evening and night together and I would sincerely like to repeat it. Although, what I don't need is you pretending to decide what is best for me, so that you don't feel bad about coming back to your ex. It happens, we are all adults. I understand. That is life, things change.

-What? No.. You are reading this completely wrong Lilly. I would never come back to her, is just that she was there. She knows all that happened...

-She was there? She knows? What? You are talking in enigmas Scarlet. Well, you don't have to explain. - Lilly proceeded before she gave Scarlet the chance to respond. - You were very clear, you don't want to see me again and that is ok. You don't have to worry about things being awkward, because I am Layla's teacher. If this is what is in your mind, I would never be any different to her or to you as her mother. - Lilly responded in a distant and rational manner.
