Now at the school gates where Lilly works, Nicole was ready to meet Francesca. In her all white outfit with a V neck blouse and squared sunglasses in her face, she was hoping to bring Francesca some sense of peace and tranquility.
-Hey, how are you? - Nicole said, ready to give her a strong hug.
-I am ok, thank you very much for coming Nicole.
-Don't need to say thank you, just wanted to make sure you are ok. It can't be easy fro you either. Ahh! I got you this.- Nicole said while giving Francesca the square boxed wrapped in brown paper with a pink shiny bow around it.
-You really didn't have to. -Francesca said surprised.
-I know, but I wanted to. Is something silly really, just some bath salts and some bath bombs, so you can get to relax a bit.
-That is very sweet of you. REALLY. - Francesca said, not knowing how else to be towards such kindness from someone she didn't really knew that well.
-Let's go. We can have a better chat sit down in the coffe shop.
***
- Did you got anymore news since yesterday?
-Not much. Her dad is staying with her. She keeps saying she feels ok, she doens't have to stay in the hospital and she does look ok to be honest with you. She is not happy about the hair cut and made sure to express that in her very strong ways, but this is not important.
-Exactly, what really matters is - And then a response in sincrony- what you do with what you have.
-Oh my god, my sister used to said that to me.
- What? - Nicole asked surprised.
-I didn't knew you had a sister.
-Well, I don't anymore.
-She passed away?- Nicole quickly asked.
- To be honest I am not sure what happen to her. She disappeared after my parents passed away.
-How old were you?- Nicole answered nervously.
-I was young. My auntie told me she had going to work away, from what I remember. Why do you ask?
-No, nothing. Fran...
- I am sorry please don't call me that, I rather be callhed by my own name.
-Why is that?
-Nothing, that is just not my name, you see?
-No worries. Do you ever wanted to find your sister?
-Well, I wanted that when I was a child, I could never understand why she just disappeared, she left me at my aunties house and vanish, but not now. She made her choice. I was lucky I had my auntie, but she just left me there and never came back for me. So no, I don't spend my time thinking about her.
-I see, I understand. How is your coffee? - Nicole asked with disappointed eyes.
-Very good thank you.
-When is Nicole coming home? Is it today?
-Yes, today around 16:30/17:00. They just wanted to ensure Nicole is stable, although they think they might be able to remove the tumor. We will know soon. They said that because of its severity no longer than 48 hours we will have the results. So tomorrow we should know.
-Private hospitals really make a difference don't they?
-Is amazing, I can't imagine how long would she wait for this results in a normal hospital. I am happy she can afford this. She needs to be ok.
-Trust me, she will be ok and you are not alone. You have me and the girls to support you as well.
-You really are so good to me, I can't imagine what else would I be doing today if wasn't for you. I am glad we met you know?
-Me too, I am very happy indeed.
- Is Lilly joining us after school hours?
-I will send her a message now and see how long will she take. Se should finish in one hour or so.
-Would be nice seeing her as well. She seems to be a very sweet girl.- Francesca suggested.
-She really is. Things in between us are too fresh to say, but time will tell more.
-We are both in a similar position aren't we? Fresh relationships, starting new friendships. It's very curious the way our paths just randomly crossed isn't it?
-I suppose, but sometimes there are just some people you need to get to know.
- Are you a believer in destiny?- Francesca asked curiously.
-I am not sure what do I believe, if I am honest. I don't believe in god or destiny, just in the power of the universe, perhaps energies, but I don't know exactly how and why?
-Perhaps thats all you need to know...
-I do think that all you need in life, sooner or later will be right in front of you for you to decide what to do with it. Like I said before, What matters is what you do with what you have.
- That is so strange.- Francesca said.
-What is?
-That you say exactly the same thing she used to say. Never thought I would ear that again. You know?
-I am happy you did.
-Are you? Why?- Francesca enquired confused.
-Well, might remind you of the few good moments you shared with your sister or so I hope...
-It is a a way to look at it, I suppose. - Francesca responded not so certain that this was the way she would look at this.
All the way through the conversation Nicole couldn't avoid but to wonder. Could it be true. Could Francesca be her sister? Would it be possible, but even if so, what would she do with this information. if this was her sister, clearly she had no interest in a reconciliation, she couldn't bear to lose her again. This way she could at least be close to her, be part of her life, but perhaps she could change her mind if she would only tell her the truth.
